Learn more about Brighton

Wander the Royal Pavilion's fantastical interiors, where the Prince Regent's oriental obsession created what looks like an Indian palace having an identity crisis. The pebble beach fills with sunbathers displaying remarkable optimism about English weather. Brighton Pier offers arcade games and candyfloss with a side of nostalgia. The narrow Lanes hide antique shops and cafes where locals debate which pub serves the least disappointing Sunday roast. Brighton's unofficial status as 'gay capital of the UK' gives the city a celebratory air. For the best fish and chips, join the queue at any shop with steamed-up windows and the smell of vinegar wafting onto the street.

"Staff were very helpful, this is the second time we have stayed here i did book a standard room but we were put in a basic room the man on the desk did explain why and gave me some money back. The room was basically clean. Unfortunately the cooked breakfast wasn't very hot but it was plentiful. We would still stay here again as it is central to amenities."

My only concern was the bath/shower, it was an over the bath shower that was very narrow and slippery, I was very concerned about slipping."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Brighton

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable times to visit Brighton are in January, February, and November, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For a great value for money experience, staying for at least 2 to 3 days allows you to fully enjoy the city's key landmarks, cultural sites, and historical attractions. During your visit, you can explore the vibrant beach, indulge in shopping, and discover the local art scene, as well as visit museums and theatres. Brighton is also known for its LGBTQ+ friendly atmosphere and welcoming locals, making it a fantastic destination for those on a budget looking to soak up the unique culture and charm of the seaside city.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals to Brighton on Hotels.com, head to the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections, where you may discover discounted hotel options as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about fleeting sales and special promotions, ensuring you won't miss out on potential savings. Additionally, you can utilise Smart Shopping , a comparison tool available in the app, to help compare hotel prices and amenities. This way, if rooms become available or prices change, you'll be alerted first, allowing for a spontaneous getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates might help you find a better deal on your stay in a Brighton hotel. For those seeking something a bit different, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and potentially better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could offer more affordable options.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre generally tend to be pricier; however, with Brighton's superb public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that is still conveniently linked. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative locations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
