Good hotel
The hotel is good in location and cleanliness. I wish it has space for the bag containing toothbrush and toothpaste

Awesome location
The hotel is in the heart of Chinatown and very near Smith street & the Maxwell Hawker center. The only downside of the hotel was the funky smell coming from the bathroom when the water is turned on. Not quite rotten eggs but maybe moldy.

Excellent. Central location.
Amazing location. Practically across the street from maxwell food centre with amazing chicken rice visited by Anthony Bourdain. Very cool boutique hotel with the way the rooms are laid out and the hallway. Very welcoming and great AC in the lobby, hallways and rooms. Very close to China town and walkable to China town point mall. And club street and satay club. Lots of places walkable and about a 10-12min walk to train station. Washrooms were clean and provide complimentary bottles of water. Also provide big umbrella if you need it. Beds are very firm like most Asian beds I’ve tried. Pillows are fluffy at first but sink and flatten out in a couple min. But very nice and soft sheets/comforter. Staff are very friendly and helpful. To get to marina bay sands or that area, have to take a cab, Grab (version of Uber) or train.

Great service close to Chinatown
Had a very nice welcome, the person in the reception walked me to my room, showed the amenities while giving me cote's information. Did not interact much but staff always courteous The room was great for Singapore standards, I stayed on an Executive room, only complaint light leaking into room at night, but that's a personal thing. I prefer total blackness in order to sleep I checked out earlier and kept my suitcase at hotel. I came back and I was offered complementary shower! I never had that before. Machelle was wonderful, she booked a grab taxi and waited with me until the taxi came and she even waited to say good bye outside the hotel door, I never that happened except some places in Japan

Not worth it. Don’t stay in room 225
Had high hopes based on the reviews however we were disappointed. Concierge that checked us did the bare minimum in terms of customer service. No welcome drink and no overview of what the property has and hours of operations. When asked if the bar was open I was told to go to the 4th floor to find out . The room was quaint and nice - bed was comfortable but we found 2 COCKROACHES wandering around . 1 in the bathroom and the other under the desk... fantastic.. oh and our bathroom smelled of rotten eggs - it sure if there’s a plumbing problem but the odour was horrible. Checkout ... the lady didn’t ask how our stay was . Just said “have a good day”. Not sure if we got the worst rooms and abnormal service but I won’t be going back. There’s much better hotels for the same price.

Leave the kids at home
Amazing start with a welcome drink after arriving from Suzie who was so helpful and accommodating. Around the corner from Maxwell food centre as well as a large range of restaurants, 5 minutes from trains and buses, 7 minutes from Chinatown. Large clean rooms which were quiet and comfortable. Love the decor which blend the old with the exotic.

Noisy night at the Scarlet
We had a 2 night stay here in an Executive room The room itself was quite small but the bathroom was of an adequate size. The decor and layout in the foyer looked fantastic. On the first night, we had difficulty being able to sleep, due to very loud band music playing late at night- we found out it was a party with a live band using the Scarlet Singapore premises for this purpose We had to make a number of phone calls to reception staff complaining about the noise and how it was preventing us sleeping, even with the window closed - the response was very underwhelming. My partner took exception to the fact that on our arrival, we were informed whilst being shown to our room that the spa, which was situated directly across from our room, was closed for use from 9 pm so as not to disturb other guests with noise that late at night! The reception informed us on one of the phone calls made by us, that the band would be finishing at 11 pm - they didn't and it was nearer to midnight that the noise eventually ceased. Giving credit though, on checking out we were approached by one of the hotel managers, who had read about the noise issue, as my partner had filled in a guest review - she apologised for the noise issue, informed us of steps which would be taken to prevent a recurrence and arranged a taxi to take us to the airport.
