Rome and related destinations

Toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain and legend promises your return to this eternal city. The Colosseum stands as a magnificent ruin where you can almost hear ancient crowds roaring. Vatican Museums house artistic treasures culminating in Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, where necks crane upward in collective awe. Spanish Steps offer perfect people-watching while enjoying gelato that makes commercial ice cream seem like a sad compromise. Piazza Navona's baroque fountains provide theatrical backdrops for espresso sipping. The Pantheon's perfect dome still defies architectural logic two millennia later. Even Rome's ordinary corners reveal extraordinary fragments of history – ancient columns casually incorporated into medieval buildings as if history were simply a practical building material.

Excellence Suite

8/10 Good
"Excellent location just minutes away from the Spanish Steps. Room was spotlessly clean & very comfortable. We landed into FCO & booked a taxi €55 to accommodation. Excellence Suites is minutes away from a local metro station which was ideal to visit Vatican City & for us on checkout to catch a connecting train from termini to Venice. We were able to borrow an iron from reception-although no ironing board. Only very slight gripes were.. we arrived late due to delays & reception had closed so had to contact via WhatsApp. It was a bit of a faff paying local taxes in the street. & would recommend taking your own milk/creamer if you don’t drink black coffee. Neither caused too much of a problem and accommodation was perfect base for us to the wonders of Rome. So would rebook if we returned to Rome."

"Super convenient hotel. Literally across from the main train station Rome Termini. Near a super market and lots of restaurants. The hotel set up is a little strange, they use physical keys and request that you leave it, the room numbers are so messed up, its like a maze. You pay for the proximity and location."

10/10 Excellent
"Great stay and location. Would stay again and recommend. Family room has 2 king beds and 2 twin beds (1 of each in each connected rooms), they connect very conveniently. Also, 1 room had a small balcony and the other had an extra bed under the twin which is interesting. Breakfast was OK, should be free and included for what you actually get in our opinion, not any different than a continental breakfast served anywhere else. Overall, good choice."

This way, you’re more likely to seize great opportunities for a spontaneous getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so having flexibility with your travel dates could help you find a more favourable rate for your stay in a hotel in Rome. For those in search of distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels might provide a more personalised experience and potentially better value. If the price appears to be on the higher end, we’ll suggest alternative dates that could help you find a more appealing option.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Rome's superb public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well linked. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
