Bad customer service
No hot water. Asked about getting it fix early in the day, came back after working, wasn’t fixed. Asked again, so they would send maintenance up. 3 hours goes by nobody shows up. I have to go back down to the counter and raise hell in order to get moved to another room that has hot water.

Hotel has definitely gone down since last year stay, no ice machine. Hot water was seriously lacking, was told before arrival the pool was heated(it isn’t) the “hot” breakfast was not hot and only had either a waffle or hard biscuit and gravy, missing eggs and sausage from last stay, hot tub worked, lobby was very cold, was also told before our dog could stay for extra $15 which was fine, then we get there and told its $15 per night, early check in (half hour) was $20. I like this hotel but the decline and suprise fees /lack of breakfast is a bit much to consider for next time

Biggest issue I had was a safety problem. Besides the fact that the place was not very clean, they gave two different people a key to my room with out any type of approval from me! Very scary situation!

You should stop the deterioration
This stay was a huge disappointment. We stayed at this hotel, probably 20 years ago, when it was a Holiday Inn. We looked forward to returning for our college homecoming. The overall facility is getting very shabby. Entering the driveway, we noticed the pavement was getting rough. There was no automatic door to facilitate entering with the luggage cart (also old and shabby). A brick was placed outside the front door to hold it open—dangerous. Front desk very good and attentive, but the staff was wearing ordinary T-shirts. No name tags, as I recall. Not professional-looking at all. We looked forward to using the pool and whirlpool because my wife has a bad back. But the pool had “failed inspection” and was closed. The carpets looked like they were the same as before and could use replacing, or at least a deep cleaning. However, the room was very nice and the beds VERY comfortable. But the telephone did not work and would not be fixed “for a couple of days.” The TV remote did not work and we couldn’t find any local channels. In the bathtub, the drain valve was coming loose. Otherwise, the bathroom was very nice. You should use a better quality toilet paper and Kleenex. The complimentary breakfast was adequate and was about what we expected. But the warmer for the eggs, biscuits & gravy did not keep things very warm. We had to warm up our food with the microwave. This is a beautiful facility—you are letting it deteriorate. Staff good; give them nice shirts

Lots of potential
When first built this place must have been amazing. The new owners have a humongous job of restoration ahead. In the meantime they have a bargain rate for an adequate stay. The pool was warmer than most other places.the hot tub needs a good cleaning, temperature could be a little warmer, the bar and restaurant was closed on Sunday but overall the stay was okay for the price. I do hope the new owners can fix it up to be great again.

Won’t be back
No towels in the room. Shower faucet dripped all night. No water for breakfast. Just sort of a Mickey Mouse operation and certainly not worth anything close to $183 a night.

1 of our beds had a dirty fitted sheet. The sink in the bathroom was clogged and did not drain properly. The toilet needed flushed multiple times in order for the water to go out. And worse than all that, there were cockroaches on the bathroom vanity.

DO NOT Stay Here
Not a good stay. There were a large group of individuals living in this hotel, they had turned the residence into their own. Aside from that, the hotel itself was run down. The pictures online of this hotel make it look nice, new, and very clean... a visit in person shows that this hotel is everything but.

A Little Gem in Kirksville
I've been staying at Day's Inn for years. It is now under new management and has made some great changes. More Eco-friendly; opened the Restaurant again with a different menu selection weekly. The bar is also open with a bartender on staff. They now have more selections for breakfast, which changes daily. and includes hot food. The pool has been open for years and now the hot-tub is back. The staff is friendly and helpful. I asked for an ice bucket, and was given a full bag of ice with it. The TV had plenty of channel options and the WiFi worked without any glitches.

The AC in the main area did not work and felt awful. There was no one at the front desk when I was checking in at 4pm. A sign at the desk said to use the phone off to the right to call for service and there was no answer. Waited about 20 min for someone to finally show up to check in. The room was filthy, shower curtain moldy, smoke streaks in the ceiling, missing smoke detector but the base for it and the wires were still there. Breakfast was a joke and everything just felt dirty. Lobby bathrooms were basically destroyed with several lights out and no toilet paper or seat covers stocked in any of the stalls. Hotel seems to be used mainly for traveling workers like railroad workers and such that stay for extended periods of time. Trying to find anyone for extra towels is impossible. I seriously would like my money back or a free stay credited to my account. A Quick Look at other reviews paint a similar picture. 10/10 would not recommend.
