About this home

About the listing

Our cabin is a centrally-located, quaint, comfortable, and well-designed retreat for families or small groups looking for a place to rest in between days exploring the Sunshine Coast. Our cabin sleeps 4-6 comfortably, and has an outdoor hot tub and lounge space. This cabin is not for groups looking to party, however, if your group would like to relax in the hot tub after a day of hiking, and you’re just looking for peace and quite, this is the right space for you.

Enjoy this beautiful cabin, designed for comfort, and only a few steps from a bus top, and nearby Davis Bay and Sechelt, BC. Whether you need an escape from the city, you're on a business trip, or you're coming to explore the majestic coastlines and quaint towns of the Sunshine Coast, this space offers everything you need to relax and enjoy your time away.

Space

The space has been designed for your comfort. The bedroom upstairs has a King-size bed with a bay window overlooking a sprawling green yard and second growth cedar tree. There is a walk-in closet off the bedroom and 4 piece bathroom down the hall. On rainy days, you can relax on the sleeper couch and browse the 'Apple TV'-equipped 65" television. The open-concept dining area features a solid wood table, and a fully equipped kitchen. The large porch has everything you need for entertaining, including two tables and enough seating for numerous guests. The newly remodeled basement has a second kitchen, bathroom, Queen-size bed and sleeper couch. The yard is very large with room enough for children to play sport. In the North corner is a fire pit. Davis bay beach is no more than a 3 minute walk. Enjoy sunsets on the beach, or a day in the sun sitting next to the 'salmon-bearing' Chapman Creek estuary. We are happy to hear feedback on the space, and provide new amenities even during your stay. We are committed to making your experience the best possible.

Guest access

Guests are welcome to the entire space and can help themselves to our supplies as well as the ensuite laundry.

Guest interaction

I am always available to help the guests, schedule mid-visit cleaners, and provide local tips such as restaurant and pub suggestions.

Neighbourhood overview

People come to the coast to relax. The Sunshine Coast is special for its beauty, quaintness, and easy access from Vancouver. The sea breeze, coastal views and tall trees put you under their spell on the ferry over, but then the inviting communities of Gibsons, Roberts Creek, Sechelt and others, make you feel at home. It's easy to come over, but hard to leave. Davis Bay is a quaint little coastal community that runs along the seashore on the drive up the coast. In fact, it is the longest stretch of shoreline access from the road that you'll find on the Sunshine Coast. The beach is ideal to walk along, with a handful of cafes, restaurants and a long wooden pier, to visit during a casual walk. Davis bay is also the ideal Sunshine coast adventure hub, not too far from walking trails and golf courses in Gibsons, Roberts Creek and Sechelt, and not too far from the more rugged outdoor appeal of Halfmoon Bay, Smugglers Cove and Madiera Park. Enjoy paddling boarding or kayaking in the ocean, or swimming at one of the numerous warm inland lakes. The sunshine coast has it all.

Getting around

Whether you arrive by car or transit, our place is very easy to get to from the ferry and walking

distance from a small mall with grocery stores, pharmacy and coffee shop. Once you're here, I encourage my guests to use public transit to get around. Sechelt is just minutes away, as are walking trails, beaches, a yoga studio, cafes, brewpubs, and more. The Sunshine Coast Highway leads directly to Sechelt and other Sunshine Coast communities. Enjoy your time here. There is a bus stop right outside the cabin, and plenty of parking options on the property.

Other things to note

Nearby Food and Drink: -There is a great Coffee Shop called Wheatberries just west down the road along the beach. You'll also find Straight Coffee ltd. about 3 blocks east. -An IGA can be found about 2 mins east of the house as well. -You'll find a denser concentration of marketplaces, liquor stores and Cafe's in Sechelt, about 4 minutes by car west down the road. -Restaurants of note in the Area include; The Wobbly Canoe (2 mins), The Old Boot Eatery (5 mins), Shift Kitchen Tapas Bar (5 mins), Or the Gumboot Restaurant or Cafe back in Roberts Crk (10 mins) -Don't forget Gibsons' restaurants like Drift, The Sweetwater Bistro, Smitty's Oyster House, and of course Molly's Reach Restaurant all in Lower Gibsons. -Watering Hole suggestions include Persephone's brewpub, The Blackfish Pub, and Gramma's pub in Lower Gibsons.

Quality and superb comfort down to every detail. Perfect for our family holiday - thank you!

This was our first VRBO experience and every member of our family (from my 2 years old to my 75 years old mom) thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Brendan’s cottage housed our entire family (grandkids to grandparents) for 4 nights. All under one roof but with the right amount of separation we were able to enjoy quality meals together, take breaks in between our days, relax outside on the patio and rest comfortably on our own without disturbing anyone else. It had the comfort of a cozy home and quality finishes of a 5 star hotel. I chose this based on previous reviews and they all held up. We were all constantly in awe of how luxurious and brand new the place felt and looked as well as all of the effort made into the finite details. An excellent set up space made for a quality family fun holiday. Brendan thought of everything. It’s all there. He was also readily accessible if needed as well. Perfectly located and central to so many sights. Loved being able to take walks in different directions and runs on the Davis Bay boardwalk each morning. The only thing that can be improved is the hedges at the end of the driveway. Need to be extra careful when turning out onto the highway as it’s so close by. Other than that, it was perfect - thank you.

    Great cabin, great location

Branden's property was really easy to find, and fit us really well. He was easy to reach and instructions were clear. Location is great, close to supermarket, liquor store, cafes, brunch spots, and restaurants. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the Sechelt area.

Great place, great location, awesome owner!

Us two families stayed at Branden's place, the kids enjoyed so much in the yard while parents preparing for dinner. Cute little place is well-equipped with everything we need. Not to mention, the booking process and owner respond time is SUPER! We all walked to Davis Bay one day after dinner to watch the sunset, it was magical. (only 10 min walk) Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for accommodation near Sechelt.
