I made a reservation through Expedia for 2 adults and 2 children. My room only had one bed. The sofa bed was all dirty and there were no bedding. I traveled 3 hours by car to get there and had to drive another 3 hours back home the same day because the room could not accommodate 4 people. The attendant who only communicated by text message offered me the option of a refund for the reservation only. I could not find any other hotel because it was spring break and I still went home without the chance to enjoy family time with my children and husband since my husband lives abroad. I made the reservation correctly. And if you offer your hotel on Expedia, you must trust the platform. So, there is no point in blaming them. I am very sad about what happened and the coldness with which I was treated. In addition, the hotel does not have a pool, there is no beach service such as chairs or umbrellas. According to the attendant who texted, you have to get them from somewhere, which I could not find, and set them up on the beach. Don't go to this place without knowing these details.

Ideal Location, Excellent Rooms, Priceless Views

We had an incredible weekend stay at the Casey Key Resort in Nokomis. The staff were amazing, the accommodations were elegant, the location was IDEAL (especially for a fisherman), and the views were PRICELESS. We stayed in a cozy cabin and had access to both the gorgeous white sandy beaches of the gulf along with dock access to the Intercoastal Waterway. I would highly recommend this small little hotel as it is both cozy and wonderfully located on Casey Key.

Visible black mold was evident throughout the rental unit. My wife, who is allergic to mold, began the night in our room but ended up moving to our car. We had a three night reservation but left after the first night. There’s no one on site to speak with; check-in and all other communication is done remotely by text or email. I sent a text with pictures of the mold to the property manager and notified them we were leaving early but didn’t even get the courtesy of a reply never mind an apology. DO NOT STAY HERE.

The resort was great. It was cozy and comfortable. Out the back door, there was a dock and it was shaded out there. And a short walk across the street, through the courtyard, was a nice sitting area where the breeze blew thru and our moms could relax and watch the sunset while my husband and I walked the shore line looking for sharks teeth,..which I found several.

At the rate charged per night including taxes, fees etc I expected a better experience. I have rented from other local places and this just does not measure up. Nice new towels and bed linens/pillows! Kitchen was missing items noted on their inventory list. Only 1 BBQ to share between all beach side units, and 1 for bay side. And not even gas. No shampoo. I hope this review helps them step it up, or drop prices to be more appropriate.

Loved our experience!

We are Sarasota locals who wanted to do a staycation on Casey Key. I found this property and could not have asked for a better experience. The property is older, it’s like staying in an old Florida bungalow, which was fine with us, because we were on the beach! The property is literally a two minute walk to the beach, and it’s a private area of the beach, so it wasn’t crowded at all. Plus, we could bring our dog! If you are looking for a fancy luxury resort, this is not it. But if you are looking for an authentic old Florida experience, then I highly recommend staying here.

Perfect location, less than perfect room.

Had a modern waterfront studio. Specifically booked this room because the “French doors” opened up to the bay. Upon going in the room the house keeper told me the doors are broken and asked if I was aware of that. I was very surprised. Sign was posted on the door to say this in the room, but did not get that info prior to stay. Huge gap in broken door frame for entrance of “guests” such as bugs and critters. The hot water was luke warm at best no matter the time of day even though management said they checked it. Sink in the bathroom was plugged entire stay informed management and they put draino down but it did not solve the problem. We have stayed here previously in the past and had a great experience. Seems management has let it go but are still charging same rates. Perfect location.

Fabulous location 100 feet from white sand beach and warm Gulf water on a white sand beach. Get the cottage on the beach side not across the street. Recently remodeled cottages with kitchens, amazing tranquility and super sunsets. Great staff including clean crew and easy parking. Avoid restaurant Pelican Alley- under a bridge. Only one grocery store near by. Casey Keys is a spectacular place to vacation, stay for at least two days- or more!
