St Andrews Hotel

St Andrews Hotel

8/10 Good
"Nice independent hotel. As others have mentioned the noise from the road is so loud and constant. But if you have some decent ear plugs that shouldn't stop you staying here. Great location for dinner at the Quay and free parking. O ly slight downside was having to pay £10 for a lost room card whilst standing watching them put a newpiece of plastic in the machine to allocate to room. This shouldn't really be £10 as the rooms are probably expensive enough. I'd probably stay again but mainly because of the location and parking. Staff are pleasant enough. Breakfast ok - altho the sausages were as cheap as chips."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Exeter

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Exeter is during January, February, and November, when hotel prices are generally lower. For those on a budget, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended to fully appreciate the city’s historical landmarks and cultural attractions. Visitors can explore the stunning cathedral, enjoy the vibrant atmosphere created by friendly locals, and take in performances at the theatre. The city's university adds to its charm, while quaint bars and small-town vibes offer a great value for money experience. Additionally, for those interested in outdoor activities, canoeing on the nearby waterways presents a fantastic opportunity to immerse oneself in Exeter's rich history and culture.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Exeter, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. You could also enable email alerts or push notifications to receive updates on flash sales and special promotions. Additionally, the Smart Shopping feature in the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, helping you make informed choices. By staying informed about availability and price drops, you'll be well-prepared to secure a great last-minute getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so having some flexibility with your travel dates could help you find a more cost-effective option for your stay in Exeter. For those in search of something distinctive, boutique hotels can offer a more personalised experience and potentially better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could help you find a more favourable rate.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre typically tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Exeter's outstanding public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well linked. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money available. Opting for these alternative locations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
