Budapest and related destinations
Thermal baths offer a quintessential Budapest experience, where locals soak in steaming waters beneath ornate domes at Széchenyi or Gellért. The Danube divides Buda's hills from Pest's boulevards, with the Chain Bridge connecting these distinct personalities. Parliament's Gothic spires demand attention, especially when illuminated at night. Margaret Island provides an urban escape with medieval ruins and musical fountains. Café culture thrives in grand establishments where writers once plotted revolutions over perfect pastries. The ruin bars of the Jewish Quarter transform abandoned buildings into eclectic drinking spots filled with mismatched furniture and local hipsters. For the best city views, climb to Fisherman's Bastion, where fairy-tale turrets frame panoramas worth every step.

H2 Hotel Budapest
"Very well kept property. We use the stairs which were as nice as the main areas. The included breakfast buffet was fantastic we many items to choose. Richard maintained a clean well maintained buffet. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Easy location for walking to the different sites."
Hotel Charles
"The property is clean, the room was spacious with kitchenette, and air conditioning worked well to keep room comfortable, especially at night. The one downside is that the property is both a hotel and residential complex. One night we were awoken by food delivery person at just after midnight knocking on door. The delivery was for the residential side. The reception allowed the delivery person to roam the hotel at this time of early morning. I found this unacceptable, any deliveries past a certain time should be confirmed and done by hotel staff. This could have been anyone posing as a delivery person. Not real close to tourist spots, but we walked to them every day and then took cab back to hotel, the final hill back to hotel was a bit much after long day."
Continental Hotel Budapest
"The location is very convenient, and the amenities are good. The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast is definitely worth having during your stay. The only downside was the Wi-Fi, which was a bit weak in the room, although the signal was strong in the lobby. Overall, it was a pleasant stay."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Budapest
- Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Budapest is between January and March, when hotel prices tend to be lower. Staying for at least 3 to 4 days allows for a thorough exploration of the city's significant landmarks and cultural sites. Visitors can discover a wealth of attractions, including impressive monuments, fascinating museums, stunning cathedrals, historic churches, and charming cafes. This budget-friendly approach ensures that travellers can enjoy the rich history and vibrant atmosphere of Budapest while getting great value for money.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover hotel deals in Budapest, explore the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates as your travel date approaches. It's also wise to enable email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to stay informed about flash sales and special last-minute offers. With the Smart Shopping tool available via the app, you can compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're more likely to see the best options. This way, you'll be the first to know if rooms become available or prices drop, making your last-minute getaway even easier to arrange.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on various factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a more affordable option for your stay in a hotel in Budapest. For those in search of something special, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and potentially better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If it appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could offer you a more favourable rate.
- Consider your location: Staying nearer to key attractions or city centres can be convenient, but it often comes at a higher price. For more affordable options, you might consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and ease of access to your intended destinations. Exploring independent hotels located further out can also provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience, as they usually tend to be cheaper.
