Railway Cottage

The location is great really close to the beach and town center. There is parking at the rear. Katherine kindly sent a text prior to our arrival with instructions of where to find the key should they be out. The room was very spacious and had a small fridge. We received fresh milk and cookies on arrival and there was plenty of coffee and tea available. The bathroom is a good size, but the shower curtain kept moving so we created a puddle whilst shower. The water pressure isn't the greatest but I guess that's expected in a soft water area and upstairs ensuite. Overall it was a very pleasant stay and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Only downside was that there wasn't clear check out instructions so we just left the key. We also had to ask for toilet paper as there wasn't any spare one in the room.

It was a lovely place to stay .. bed comfy ( pillows had an extra hygiene case on which were crunchy ) and clean .. room decorated very pretty .. no real personal service but we ran out of milk so just asked and host was very pleasant and obliging .. noise at night til around 2.30 am .. however an ok overnight stay and would use again .. very easy walk for beach and town

The room was clean and tidy, and comfortable. We were happy to forgo breakfast as it gave us the opportunity to sleep in and eat in town at our leisure. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom spacious. The free wi-fi was very good and the room was cleaned daily. Unfortunately, there was a lot of noise throughout the day and evening, coming from what appeared to be the owners quarters, which disturbed us quite a lot as we wanted peace and quiet on our holiday. This included the owners own dogs barking quite a lot. There also appeared to be building work going on as we heard drilling and sawing. Parking was very tight, and one day we were unable to move our car because another resident blocked us in, but in fairness to the owners they did try to contact the other residents, but to no avail. The owners were friendly and amenable throughout, but the noise did somewhat spoil it for us. I don't know if we were just unlucky with our timing or if this is a normal occurrence. You might go another time and not hear a peep?

Okay if you like a quiet place to stay, need to inform visitors that the car parking is at the rear when they send details as the frontage is on the main road with no time to read small print on the house sign. Shame there was no breakfast, isn't really a B+B, just board. Basic but very clean room. Very good value for the price.
