The hotel is in a lovely quite spot and about 5 minutes from the town center ( depending on how fast you walk. It a gradual uphill on your return to the hotel, but there are many shops to break up the walk. The ground of the hotel would of looked lovely if it had been a normal british summer. The breakfast choice was good, and as the owners state, your other meal requirements are all available in the town.

A beautiful period property, well situated in the heart of Swanage, however we visited at the end of what was a very long, hot and busy season so the grounds were somewhat 'unloved' and the whole hotel and grounds looked and felt somewhat tired...the room (in the Louisa Lodge) was spacious and comfortable with everything needed for a comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast was disappointing, there was no cooked option and the continental self service options were limited. I appreciate just how tough it is for the hospitality industry at present and everyone did their best to make this a comfortable stay...

Scraped front wing on arrival boulders are hidden from drivers view due to small turning angle so beware....rooms have not been updated for several years. Purbeck house hotel is right in the town and close to everything. However, once inside and in the gardens, it is so tranquil, a perfect stay. Staff so helpful and friendly and meet requests and enquiries with a smile. Room was comfortable and clean and all you need for a stay. Varied continental breakfast, perfect. We will definitely return.
