"We spent 4 nights in a wonderful Ocean twin room on a Yokohama floor of the hotel. We had an incredible view of Cosmoworld and the bay from both the balcony and the (huge) bathroom. Drinks topped up in the fridge every day was a nice touch. The lady that saw us to our room was so lovely and welcoming, I wish I remembered her name. Highly recommend anyone spending time in Yokohama to give this place a try."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Kamakura

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable times to visit Kamakura are in January, August, and September, as hotel prices tend to be lower during these months. For an enriching experience that allows you to delve into the area's historical and cultural landmarks, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. This timeframe is perfect for exploring significant sites such as ancient temples, historical monuments, and the stunning beaches, as well as enjoying outdoor adventures in the surrounding natural parks and hilly landscapes. Given the potential for prices to drop during these months, travellers on a budget will find this a great value for money option.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Hotels.com offers travellers the chance to explore flexible hotel deals in Kamakura. By visiting the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections, you may discover discounted rates on hotels near your travel date. Enabling email alerts or push notifications ensures you’re more likely to see flash sales and unique opportunities. The Smart Shopping tool, available via the app, is a useful comparison tool that allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you have the best options when booking your last-minute getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, having some flexibility with your travel dates could assist you in potentially saving on your stay at a hotel in Kamakura. For those seeking distinctive experiences, boutique hotels might provide a more personalised touch and, at times, better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could help you find a more favourable option.
  4. Consider your location: Opting for accommodation closer to key attractions or city centres can offer convenience, but it often comes with a higher price tag. For more affordable options, you might consider hotels located in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to the sites you wish to visit. You could also look into independent hotels situated a bit further out, which are usually more likely to be affordable and can provide a more authentic experience.
