Lovely, helpful lady on reception let us check in a little earlier than allowed as we arrived early which was great. We’ve stayed at The Kiln a few times and for the price it’s pretty good, ‘no frills’ room was clean and the bed comfy and the bathroom was clean. The room was warm and quiet and despite terrible howling winds and lashing rain outside we slept reasonably well. Rooms could do with a bit of updating decor wise but we had everything we needed and will stay again

Lovely staff very helpful. Rooms nice and clean. could do with a little update ie tv,kettle but other than that was happy with room. Breakfast was perfect 👌 used the hotel for working away twice and it was perfect for what we needed. If we work that area again definitely will be booking again.

This is a great budget hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and it wasn’t noisy at all. I would definitely recommend the hotel if your on a budget, great night sleep. And also parking was free so win win.

Slightly confusing to find the first time, but good parking, clean rooms and a food outlet on site. Friendly staff and a good breakfast available. Lots of food venues in the area within walking distance, on the outskirts of Wakefield. Handy for the M1 motorway.

Well, we were disappointed after reading several good reviews. The place looked shabby and depressing and there was a huge rip in our net curtain, which was also grey looking. The room was pretty small and we wouldn't come back to be honest, though the staff were helpful.

I recently found this Gem after never staying there before and its now my go to hotel everytime. I've had stays ranging from a single night to ten consecutive nights. Each time it's been a consistant 10/10. It's a great place with great staff and has everything you need. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels around the country which can cost 80 one night but jump to 130 for the same room the very next day. The Kiln don't seem to follow that trend which i think is fantastic. Don't get me wrong the prices do vary slightly but in my experience it isn't very often and when they do it's by a small amount. For me that's something which is a really big plus. I've never had one issue with The Kiln and i'll be booking plenty more stays in the near future

The Kiln Hotel in Wakefield has the look and feel of a run down American Motel that has been abandoned several decades ago. Desperately in need of refurbishment it appears that the new owners have not made any improvements since taking over from Campanile Hotels. The room I stayed in for 1 night looked as if it had not been decorated for 20 years and still had a lingering odour of Cigarette smoke. Whilst the bed linen was clean the base was full of stains and filthy. On a positive note the reception staff are both friendly and professional and parking continues to be free for hotel guest, I will however seek alternative accommodation next time I’m in Wakefield.

Unfortunately we were unable to stay at the hotel as the room with disabled access was water damaged. The receptionist did show us other rooms, but these were all unsuitable as their access to bathroom was restricted. The receptionist did however arrange for us to stay at another hotel of the group which was nearby. Excellent service by the recptionist.
