Hotel Carlina

Hotel Carlina

8/10 Good
"My wife Ella, two friends and I recently stayed at Hotel Carlina for our September late-summer break in La Clusaz. Overall, it is a lovely hotel in a fantastic location, though there were a few minor details that make it a 4/5 for us. The classic timber chalet vibe is spot on, and the panoramic views across the mountains are brilliant. We also loved having the indoor pool to unwind in after a long day out. When it came to the breakfast buffet, it was decent, but it is worth noting that there is not much choice if you require gluten-free options. (GF crackers) We made good use of the egg-boiling machine to make ourselves fresh boiled eggs each morning, which was a nice touch. We also requested gluten-free oat milk, which they happily provided all week, but unfortunately, they ran out on our final day and didn't replace it. The rooms themselves were cosy and clean, but a quick warning for taller guests: the beds are bang on 6 ft long, which meant my feet were hanging out the bottom! Despite the short beds and the slight breakfast niggle at the end, it remains a nice, authentic hotel with incredibly friendly staff. We would happily return."

"Good parking, downhill walk to go skiing, staff helpful and friendly. Only spoiled by noisy people above singing and stomping feet to singing at 11pm at night and talking very loudly at midnight with chairs being scraped and kids running around on wooden floors, also men talking very loudly at lifts/in corridor in early hours of morning several times waking everyone up leaving us all tired on following days.
