Rothay Garden by Harbour Hotels

Rothay Garden by Harbour Hotels

10/10 Excellent
"The room was spacious and clean, bath robes and slippers, complementary drinks, tea and coffee machine in the room. The bed was very comfortable and big and the shower pressure was amazing. They have a small spa, sometimes there's no one in there and you can have it all to yourself. It was a charming place and probably one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. Special thanks to the staff, who are caring and always happy to help. Cannot wait to visit again."

THE ROADHOUSE

8/10 Good
"The room was a good size for a single room with en-suite. The decor was tired but ok. The room was clean except for several stains on the carpet which some good carpet cleaner ought to be able to sort out. I got the room for a reduced price on Hotels.com so it was acceptable value for money. I would not have said that if I had paid the full price."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Carlisle

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Carlisle is during January, February, and November, when hotel prices may drop to lower prices. A stay of at least 2 to 3 days is ideal for exploring key landmarks such as the castle and cathedral, as well as cultural attractions including local heritage, traditional culture, and historic walking tours. This small town also provides opportunities to enjoy budget-friendly dining and a friendly atmosphere, making it an excellent destination for travellers seeking both history and culture without compromising affordability.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute hotel deals in Carlisle, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates as your travel date approaches. Enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com can help you stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you don’t miss potential savings. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool in the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, making it easier to find the best options. You'll be alerted if rooms become available or prices drop, so you can seize that last-minute getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay at a Carlisle hotel. For those seeking distinctive experiences, boutique hotels might offer a more personalised experience and occasionally better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your selected dates is above or below the average, and if it appears higher, we may suggest more affordable dates to help you potentially find a more advantageous option.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre typically tend to be more expensive, but with Carlisle's outstanding public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located a bit further out that remains well-connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
