10/10 Excellent
"Enjoyable stay at what is perhaps best described as a fantastic restaurant with rooms. The restaurant overlooks the water and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. However our room was landside, with only a view of Irsha Street. Although small, the room and facilities were excellent. Fresh milk in the fridge is always much appreciated by us tea drinkers."

The Wayfarer Inn

8/10 Good
"Very nice room with sea view, unfortunately very steep stairs to get there and as suffering mobility issues, not the best, although staff were not aware. Breakfast excellent, and evening meal for 7 highly commented on favourably, hot plates and food. Unfortunately a bout of food poisoning occurred overnight, although the source cannot be confirmed but suspected. Would recommend and stay again. Chair to be placed in room in September after renovations will be a bonus."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Bideford

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Bideford is during January, February, and November, when hotel prices are generally lower. For those looking to explore the town’s key historical and cultural landmarks, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. This duration allows visitors to discover the charming small-town ambience, picturesque countryside, and hilly surroundings. Enjoy activities such as fishing by the marina or even surfing, all while benefiting from budget-friendly options that offer great value for money. Additionally, affordable attractions like theme parks and trendy cafés enhance the experience without straining your wallet.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals to Bideford on Hotels.com, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections, where you may discover discounted hotel options close to your travel date. Additionally, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to stay updated on flash sales and exclusive promotions, so you’re less likely to miss a chance to save. You can also utilise Smart Shopping , a comparison tool within the app, to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you’re informed about any availability changes or price drops for your preferred accommodations.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you find a more affordable stay in a Bideford hotel. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and potentially better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we can suggest alternative dates that may offer a more attractive rate.
  4. Consider your location: Staying nearer to key attractions or city centres may provide convenience, but it often comes with higher expenses. For more affordable options, consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to the places you wish to visit. You might also look into independent hotels a bit further out, which are usually likely to be more affordable and can offer a more authentic experience.
