Beyond Waikiki's famous stretch of sand, Diamond Head crater beckons with a hike that rewards effort with panoramic views. The USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbour offers a sobering glimpse into history, while Iolani Palace stands as America's only royal residence. Chinatown buzzes with markets and eateries where locals debate which spot serves the best poke. Escape the crowds at Ala Moana Beach Park, where families gather for weekend barbecues beneath swaying palms. 10/10 Excellent
"We loved our stay at the Surfrider. We felt right at home, even in a busy area. The property was always clean and right on the beach. We could always get something to eat and drink quickly and it was delicious. Live music everyday, was great. We had our 2.5 year old with us and they provided a crib. We will definitely be staying here again."

Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Waikiki

Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Waikiki

10/10 Excellent
"Stay at this property! Seriously — it’s one of the best and most affordable options in Waikiki. I describe it as staying at an “off-property Disney hotel.” 😂 You can literally walk across the street to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and enjoy all the action, restaurants, beach, and Friday night fireworks — but save a ton of money by staying at the Ramada. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was amazing. It was also surprisingly quiet at night, which I really appreciated. If you rent a car, parking is only $30 a night, which is an absolute STEAL for Waikiki. And DO NOT sleep on the Country Market/ABC Store! We ate there several times and saved so much money compared with eating every meal at a restaurant. They have tons of food options, snacks, drinks, and even Dole Whips for only $3.99! Another money-saving tip: there’s a water machine on Level 2, so we just kept refilling our water bottles instead of constantly buying bottled water. The hotel also has laundry facilities, a gym, and a pool. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, affordable place to stay in Waikiki where you can easily walk to the beach and all the action without paying resort prices, stay here. I absolutely would again. The staff is amazing."

To fully appreciate the city's rich landmarks, history and culture—including attractions such as Chinatown, the beach, the sea, islands, shopping areas, tours, the port, surfing spots, tropical sites and monuments—a stay of at least 4 to 5 days is ideal.
  2. 3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so having some flexibility with your travel dates could potentially help you find better value for your stay in a hotel in Honolulu. For those seeking distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and often present improved value.
