Fantastic location overlooking the hilltop sea views. Last minute overnight booking, with only the rear looking room available (would like to try the sea view rooms next time). Room was immaculately clean with a fan, iron (and board), hairdryer, microwave, toaster, fridge and kettle (also tea, coffee and milk, that you can have refilled if you need more). Staff were absolutely fantastic from the time we checked in to when we left. Bar and food area downstairs (also plenty of outdoor seating).
I would say the only minus to this rear room was views to back car park and generators. Was advised before hand that the generator slight noise (like an extractor fan sound), goes off after food is stopped in evening. This didn’t have any impact on our stay as we wasn’t in the room during the day and wasn’t back till after 9pm.
Car park ( Princes St) run by local authority is £11 for over 6 hours to 17hrs (free from 12 midnight til 7am). Staying longer than 2 or 3 days and plan to park around the councils Torbay car parks; you can buy a 4 and 7 day permit from between £31 and £55 ( I guess change every year - https://www.torbay.gov.uk/parking/parking-permits/car-park-permits/ )
If staying a couple of days, try and find a free parking space on the seafront/side roads about 100 yards up the road.
As for Babbacombe, great stay away from the busier resorts around. Lovely hilltop bay front with lots of benches. Seen lots of people with camper chairs and blankets on the grass front.
