4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Nanjing

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Nanjing is during January, February, and August, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For an enriching experience of the city’s historical and cultural landmarks, a stay of at least 3 to 4 days is recommended. This duration allows visitors to explore significant sites such as ancient temples, cultural ruins, and scenic forests, while also enjoying the serene atmosphere of hot springs and a memorable ferry ride. Overall, Nanjing offers great value for money, making it an ideal destination for those travelling on a budget.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover enticing hotel deals for Nanjing, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates as your travel date approaches. Consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to stay informed about flash sales and special last-minute promotions, helping you seize opportunities to save. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're well-informed about available options. This way, if rooms become available or prices drop, you'll be among the first to know, making your last-minute getaway easier.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay at a Nanjing hotel. For those seeking distinctive experiences, boutique hotels may offer a more personalised stay and sometimes provide better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we might suggest alternative dates that could help you secure a more attractive deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually charge higher rates, but thanks to Nanjing's excellent public transport links, you might find a more affordable independent hotel further afield that remains well connected. For those wishing to explore alternative, less congested neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
