Sofia and related destinations
Beneath the golden domes of Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Sofia reveals itself as a city where Roman ruins peek between communist blocks and stylish cafes. The yellow-brick lanes of Vitoshka Boulevard offer prime people-watching while sipping Bulgaria's potent coffee. At the Central Mineral Baths, admire the ornate facade before heading to nearby hot springs where locals have soaked for centuries. The Ivan Vazov National Theatre stands regally amid Borisova Gradina Park's leafy paths. Don't miss the ancient Serdica ruins beneath modern streets, casually incorporated into subway stations as if finding 2000-year-old mosaics during your commute is perfectly normal.

Central Hotel Sofia
"Overall this hotel is clean and nice. We booked it for our last night before we fly out so it did the trick. The rooms are very small and the breakfast was not nice. The staff were friendly"
Hotel Favorit
"A little difficult to find because the address does not match the street number correctly but nevertheless, quite quaint and quiet. The only this is the view was not ideal."
Sofia Balkan Palace
"Hotel was in an excellent location. Very nicely styled hotel with very friendly staff. Our room was beautiful. No blind in the bathroom and paint on ceiling in shower peeling off - you would think it would get fixed as an easy one. On first look breakfast appeared to be good - lots of choice and nice looking fruit etc…however most of the hot choices were luke warm. A real shame as something they could sort. Overall I would recommend staying - just be prepared for breakfast not being great"
East Plaza Hotel
"I love everything about this property. The staff was friendly and great. The room amazing and also the lobby and I love that smell in the lobby."

For those in search of distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is higher or lower than the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could help you find a more attractive option.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Sofia's excellent public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located a bit further out that remains well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often great value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
