Overall a nice hostel. I had a privat double room and the AC was a life saver! I’ve stayed at a lot of youth hostels so this family oriented hostel was a bit different. I missed the feeling of community that you sometimes get in a hostel, this is more like a less fancy, but still fairly nice, hotel. Had a lovely stay and can’t complain about the price :)

Wonderful place to stay while getting oriented to the city. Everyone was very nice and helpful, and our family of four felt comfortable and at home. Location is perfect—train station and restaurants right nearby; easy walk to city center—and the hostel itself has plenty of pleasant spaces to land Definitely a lot of stairs (on the steep/short tread depth side), which caught us off-guard with heavy luggage, but we managed and it was definitely worth it. Accessibility issues could be challenging at other times.

The place was nice and exceeded my expectations. There was even a welcome drink. The receptionist was not super friendly when I arrived. I had already payed for my stay through Hotels.com, yet she asked me to pay for the whole stay. When I said I had already payed and started to look for it on my phone, she double checked. She found out that it was, indeed, payed already, yet she didn't apologise or anything. The communication felt cold. But the facilities were good and I had what I needed.

My friend and I both enjoyed our stay at Green Elephant Hostel. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, and our hostel was clean, inviting and offered several on site amenities. It is conveniently located right near the train station as well. I would definitely recommend the hostel for your stay in Maastricht.

The Green Elephant was for me a community setting in which i found it pleasant to reside. A community environment brings strength of heart and joy of mind. The breakfast was outstanding and well worth the price. You would be pressed to find a more helpful staff.

Absolutely enjoyed my stay here. The room was so comfortable and everyone was so respectful of being quiet. The front desk staff were also very friendly. I only wish I had brought a swimsuit so I could have enjoyed the spa, but did not think of it. It is also very conveniently located by the train station. I would absolutely stay here again.

The pods are a very unique accommodation option as each was a decent size. The shared toilet and bathroom was always clean and stocked. I was lucky to have respectful (mostly) neighbours after midnight - 7am The spa area is amazing! I had this to myself for 1hr out of my 90min session and it was so good for the muscles before bed.

Very friendly staff. Nice welcoming with a choice of vodka shot or a smoothie. Nice room, double room for 1 person. Clean. Air condioned. Nice bathroom with well functioning shower. Simple but very good breakfast buffet. Coffees, tea, juice, milk, cereals etc. Nice gem was a pancake machine! A must try, just push the button and it makes two small pancakes.

The rooms are very cool for budget traveling. You get a little wooden cabin inside a larger room. Ours had two beds atop eachother but unfortunately no private bathroom. Bathrooms are ok but not great (like a hostel). Community areas are very nice.

Cleanliness was great; but for a “hostel”, this was quite pricey. I have stayed in hostels in Europe before, & they offered more for a lower price. A towel should have been included at least. Also, no shower curtain was strange-hard to keep water from going outside of the “drain area”, no matter how low I kept the pressure & aimed it away from the opening. We brought our own small towels, but needed them to dry ourselves, not the floor. I do understand many people waste water and towels, but we do not. Staff was great, the place was clean, & in a great location.
