VILLA QUARANTA Tommasi Wine Resort & Thermal SPA

VILLA QUARANTA Tommasi Wine Resort & Thermal SPA

8/10 Good
"The room was clean and spacious for the rate, quite silent despite the neighbouring rooms being also occupied. There was a wasp nest outside the window so opening for ventilation was not an option, unfortunately - but it wasn't too much of a problem given we had A/C on almost all the time (it was about 35-40C outside and the A/C could cope perfectly). Breakfast was good, served in a downstairs room with the option to sit outside. Variety was just fine for continental breakfast with some cold cuts, scrambled eggs, roasted veggies, fresh fruit, cereal, pancakes and excellent variety of traditional Italian pastries and cakes / pies. The pool was in great condition, the gym was excellent and the only area that could do with some minor better maintenance was the spa. Overall a super pleasant experience."

"Excellent views from rooms that face the lake. Outstanding staff. Breakfast was great, aside from all the greedy little birds! (not the fault of the property) Great water pressure in the room, plenty of hot water. The only issue I had was that the bed was just too soft."

TH Lazise - Hotel Parchi del Garda

8/10 Good
"Reception staff were excellent and were extremely helpful when taxis needed ordering. Very clean and Rituals toiletries a nice touch. Breakfast was good and the pool looked good although we didn’t use it. The hotel is fairly close to Gardaland although feels a long walk in the heat. Otherwise, it is a fair distance away from the train station, public transport is poor, and taxis are expensive. Don’t use Uber-quoted 40 euros plus for a 10-12 minute journey. My lower rating than I would usually give is for the absence of a kettle in the room. There was not one available from reception either so you had to go to the bar for hot water. Inconvenient for anyone but if I had a young baby and needed hot water for sterilisation or a bottle, then really not ideal. On a related note, rooms which are numbered in the 4000s are quite a walk from the reception area, so when booking, worth requesting a room close to reception if walking is difficult for you."

Grand Hotel Terme Sirmione

Grand Hotel Terme Sirmione

10/10 Excellent
"A truly special place. The staff are incredible and genuinely can’t do enough for you. The facilities are excellent, the rooms are lovely and very well maintained, and the free spa access is a fantastic bonus. The spa was also very quiet during our stay. The sun loungers on the lake are fantastic, with very attentive lifeguards who even move your umbrella to make sure you stay shaded. The thermal pool is lovely too. The breakfast is very comprehensive, with a great selection of hot and cold food, hot drinks, as well as the option to order eggs exactly how you like them. The location is excellent, right outside the entrance to the historic centre. It’s also close to bus routes, making it very easy to get around, including getting to Verona. 10/10 experience. If we return to Lake Garda, we will certainly stay here again."

"The location was great - right on the water and close to the castle, shops and boat docks. It was over 100 degrees when we visited and the air conditioning in the room helped but couldn’t keep up with the heat. The room was comfortable but a little old and dusty. Overall we enjoyed our stay."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Malcesine

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Malcesine is during February, March, and November, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those on a budget, a stay of at least 3 to 4 days would be great value for money, allowing ample time to discover key landmarks and cultural attractions. Visitors can explore the stunning scenery around the lake, delve into the town's rich history at the castle, and enjoy activities like biking or skiing in the nearby mountains. Additionally, taking a ferry from the port offers a unique way to appreciate the area's natural beauty. Prices may drop during these months, making it an ideal time for a budget-friendly getaway.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Malcesine, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted hotel options as your travel date approaches. Additionally, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications to stay updated on flash sales and exclusive promotions, so you’re more likely to catch savings opportunities. The Smart Shopping feature within the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you can make informed choices. This way, you’ll be among the first to know if prices drop or if new rooms become available for your spontaneous getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a better deal on your stay in a Malcesine hotel. If you're seeking something distinctive, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and potentially better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. Should the price be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could offer you a more affordable option.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre typically tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Malcesine's excellent public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel located further afield that remains well connected. For those wishing to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money available. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
