I am a professional photographer and I was there photographing clients who are graduating from College of Charleston this year. This hotel was centrally located on King Street and whenever I needed my car, it was brought around promptly and the service was excellent.

The Francis Marion hotel is a beautiful, historic hotel in a great location. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and we had the best shower (pressure) of any hotels we ever stayed in! Would definitely return!

While the main lobby is pretty, the main entrance is drab and unwelcoming and so are the rooms. The room furniture is old and stained and the bathroom is tiny-no room for two ladies sharing to even place their toiletries. With only two small table lamps the room was all also quite dark. We were told by the manager this is what it means to be "historical". There was no outdoor space at all-no patio or grounds to enjoy. Beds and sheets were comfy and that counts for something! Rates are fair. Good location.

The hotel is beautiful but older. The rooms are fine but could use some updating. The hotel is centrally located in the city and perfect for walking. We enjoyed our stay. The restaurant is great and the brunch is wonderful.
