The hotel is very well located and it looks comfortable. The breakfast is great and the staff incredibly nice, gentle and accommodating. I arrived late on a Thursday and I had to self check-in with a code. Everything went very smoothly and the room was exactly was I needed. The day after, due to a minor problem in my room, I was kindly offered an upgrade to a better room, I happily accepted and I am still regret it. This new room was the 117 and it was haunted by a tedious and continuous hum through the whole night. The reception was closed and there was no one there to help me. It was impossible to stay in the room, let alone to sleep. I had to spend the whole night sitting in the bathroom, where the noise was less evident.
I do not understand the reason why they would not keep a member of staff during the night to help with this kind of issues but I may guess it’s to avoid paying for it.
The day after, yesterday, I was moody, tired and with a intense headache caused by the humming that I still have not managed to get rid of. I really felt like asking for a refund, but I didn’t have the strength for it and, besides, the staff was just lovely.
Fellow traveler, do not accept by any chance any kind of upgrade to a new brand room. They do not know what they are offering.
As a piece of advice to the management, I used to work in a hotel and the manager used to spend the night regularly in every new room the hotel offered, to check there were not unexpected noises.
