We really enjoyed our overnight stay at Cleveland House. Perfect location, adorable street, so historic and such a welcome port on a chilly holiday weekend. We will definitely be back— I am so glad we found it.

Great stay!
In Newport for 2 days and thoroughly enjoyed this 1700’s B/B. The room was comfy and clean. The location is perfect for exploring town, the pier or catching a trolley!

When we arrived, a young man directed us where to park. Very convenient. The inn Manager was very nice and let us pick out our room. The room was small , but clean and comfortable. The location was great. Close to shops , restaurants and bars. I would recommend.

2/10 Poor

This is a step above a tenement. A 2 star rating for this place is a hilarious overstatement. I've stayed in seedier places over the course of my life, but I've never paid more for less. If this was maybe $100 a night and the innkeeper didn't creep out my wife with his demeanor, I wouldn't have bothered leaving a review because it would have met expectations and served its purpose as a place to crash for a night of drinking, but for about $350/night on average, this place is a massive ripoff. Don't trust the pictures. Based on them, this seems like a quaint little B&B, but I don't know where they were taken. Our room sure didn't look like that. Of course I realize hotels in the area tend to range from expensive to insane, but that's not a good reason to charge Manhattan prices for a walk-in closet with a bed and a toilet.

The manager is a really nice guy and he treated me with total first class service. I would highly recommend this stay if you want a homelike feel in a bed and breakfast type place. Perfect for families! Wholesome neighborhood

Awful!
This is probably one of the worst places I have ever stayed. It was grossly over priced. There were electrical cords running all over the room which looked hazardous. It smelled like chicken soup in the entire building. The place was not clean and in awful condition! Honestly this place is a h*ll hole! The shower floor was strangely painted with some sort of red paint. It was so small that the shower curtain stuck to you. Not one positive thing other than the fact that they offer free parking. Grossly over priced. A motel 6 would have been better!
