Awful
Awful…I booked, paid, and once I saw the room decided to keep driving. It felt dirty and tired and I really didn’t want to touch anything. 20 minutes, that’s all I stayed. I had been driving for 7 hours and was looking forward to a shower and some rest, but couldn’t leave faster. Poor showing, Hotels.com!!!

Shocking!
Cold rooms, heater hanging off wall on one room and in both rooms heater not working. Spoke to reception and they offered me a blanket! Half the lights in the room did not work and electric socket did not work. Broken toilet flush button. Mould over the top of walls by window and door. Carpet area on balcony filthy and not been vacuumed for ages. Spoke to hotel receptionist and they could not have cared less. Left early due to all the above

I had room 31..The room was dangerous…..broken desk light with exposed bare cable connections, broken light switch with exposed bare cables, smoke detector head missing with exposed cables, bedside lights not working, bathroom extractor fan not working, shower wall fitting hanging off, shower curtain missing hanging clips…..I will certainly not use this hotel again and recommend other prospective guests not to use it

It’s a cheap 2/3 star hotel which at £40 for a double room and breakfast is a bargain. It’s not in the greatest condition but if you’re expecting more then you should be expecting to pay more. Perfect for an overnight stay before the shuttle or ferries.

2/10 Poor

Very poor. The room was small, and in this summer heat, no air con or fan. Cant open the windows as there were mosquitos just waiting to come in. Bathroom was very tiny. The state of the room was bad. The receptionist was good and helpful but was unable to assist in the state of the room. Certainly will never for there again and dont recommend it,.

Absolutely abysmal. Awful filthy damp room. Published pictures must be from when it was brand new and bare no resemblance to how it is now. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

The rooms were in a poor state. Doors looked like they'd been forced open. Bathroom door didn't shut properly. Shower had a broken rail. Bed covers were stained. Several lights didn't work.

6/10 Good

The hotel is very tired. Only one of the two lights in the bathroom worked, the shower head holder was broken, the outside of the building needs a deep clean and my wife saw a rat running around outside this morning! One good thing was we walked across the road to the Best Western restaurant to eat and of course, the Premiere Class was very cheap. On the plus side, the bedding was clean and crisp and the breakfast was OK for the price. Overall though I wouldn't recommend it

2/10 Poor

I booked a night on the way to Germany and a night before the ferry on my return. I had the aam disgusting room on my return. I reviewed it at the time. But this time, it was worse! The heating was broken. I told the male receptionist about the heating and asked for a second bed cover. He just shrugged...'pah!' And almost threw the cover towards me. Also, I am pretty sure that the pillow cases had not been changed. DISGUSTING! EXPEDIA You should be ashamed about listing such a terrible place. I will be contacting you for a full refund for both of my stays. In short, TERRIBLE, AWFUL place and NOT worth the price.

I enjoyed the breakfast but otherwise.... This hotel needs a complete makeover. If the other rooms are the same as the one that was allocated to me it should he closed down until it is massively improved or better still demolished and a new Hotel built in its place. The room was dirty and quite simply worn out. The toilet seat was broken, the toilet and sink were filthy, the shower tap was broken, there was broken wordwork around the door, damp in the walls causing the wallpaper to peel, damp stains on the ceiling. The pillows felt like they were made from cotton wool balls. Simply the worst room that I have ever slept in.

Don't stay here
The bathroom door did not close and the toilet paper holder expised all the paper. The shower curtain had only 5 rings and the shower head attachment was broken. The bed had a dirty bedspread and no duvet and the room was noisy and smelt of cigarettes. The hotel looks like it has long standing residents who are asylum seekers. Very disappointing as years ago this was a good place to stay but now very run down and not worth 60 euros per night.

A good nights sleep
Slept well on comfortable beds, staff were friendly and helpful, location was easy from ferry port, price was excellent. Hotel is a bit tired and could do with an update, but for the price I cannot complain.

Unloved and scruffy.
Noisy. Scruffy. No duvets. Woken during the night by shouting on more than one occasion. The good thing was we could walk our dog around a lake over the road from the hotel and it is only 30 minutes from Calais and an hour from Bruges.

I knew we were in for something pretty poor considering how little we paid, so my expectations were very low in the first place. It was a one night stopover, and we were simply looking for somewhere to get our heads down for the night and move on. Good lord, this place surprised us - in the worst way possible! The inside of the room smelled overwhelmingly of cigarette smoke, the rest of the hotel smelled of weed. The metal door to our prison cell/room was peppered with what looked like pellet marks. There was exposed electrics on the radiator, there were bugs in the room, and a very suspicious looking white stain on the bedsheets. To add to the atmosphere, there were some quite obvious "dodgy" dealings going on from a nearby room, and I think the communal balcony/walkway looked more like a toilet than the toilet did. Needless to say, we gave our key back and got a last-minute booking elsewhere. On the plus side, the lady on reception was friendly... but didn't seem particularly surprised to get the key back!
