We had a great stay at the Templebar rooms! It is perfectly located in the middle of everything and enables you to take advantage of a walkable area of the city without renting a car.

Parking at a multi-storey carpark around the corner and plenty of things to do, but it was quiet and convenient.

Great location. Easy to access. Easy to walk everywhere. Everything you need with in 15 minutes walking distance. It’s a little loud at night but not a huge deal for what you get we were on the second floor. Bags were a bit heavy to walk up the stairs but overall a great place to stay.

8/10 Very good

Great soot, not a hotel. You get a code for the main door and your room. Weather was extremley warm outside and the room was lovely and cool. Exactly what you need for a short city break.

8/10 Very good

Spacious room and not bad bed, a mattress was a bit old but tolerable. Very clean, easy checkin, nespresso coffee as a nice bonus, thanks. The only thing I didn’t like was the fan in the bathroom was too loud and was not possible to turn it off. The rest is great, would definitely return.

It was in a wonderful location, but unfortunately we had a bit a difficulty with the shower draining, reached out and never heard a reply. I’d still recommend the stay if you are looking for a place to easily access Templebar.

Room nice - entry information lacking

The room was clean and tiny. We never received the promised email with the building and room entry codes. Luckily the housekeeper was there when we arrived and provided the needed information. Two days later we received a second email requesting our arrival time - 2 days after we we were there.

No windows no air con

The room was small but covered what we needed for a short stay. Unfortunately the air conditioning didn’t work and we messaged several times and asked cleaner who said she would get the man to come and sort it but never did. Being stuck in a basement with no windows and no air con in summer is not ideal

Do not spend the money.

It was very difficult to find the location. More photos of the exact location would be very helpful. The room was extremely small and did not fit the description. It was more of a closet than a room. They need to reduce the price of the room by half. It was extremely disappointing and I will not return to this company for accommodations.

8/10 Very good

1. Lack of property information such as address, how to check-in ( indeed, they sent us after we let the property, how later it is) and 2. Expedia link sent us to a wrong and another hotel, which luckily got help from the hotel staff and 3. The check-in code was not working, which the owner claimed that we checked in a little bit early than 3:00 pm. Anyway, the experience with the property is stressful, especially 1 and 2 points named in the above. However, the property was clean and roomish .

Life at 6 square meters

It would have been quite a nice stay in a central located clean and quiet place if I would have known the room will be the smallest I ever been to. The bed is so close to the toilet + shower that during the night the movement sensor lit up the main lights if I moved my arm a bit too far off the sheets. Oh and there is no reception, it is just a door in the street, check-in is via text message the host. Also the room is kind of a security nightmare, pin to enter the room is the most basic default I could imagine, was wondering if it'd work for any other rooms too; safe could not be opened so I didn't dare to leave my laptop at the room. Heating is quite faint, it was really cold even setting the max temperature. All in all, not really a hotel experience.

The place is very close to the main tourist attractions/places in Dublin. You can easily take at the airport the Dublin Express Line and get down on Ormond Quay Upper and just walk less than 2 minutes. The room is not big; however, it has very thing you need, bath, bed is comfortable, hair dryer, TV and a small fridge. The only thing as recommendation for the owner is to always provide to the guests the front door code ahead, in order to leave the luggage there before check in time, that would be very helpful. In my case I received the codes after check in time, around 3:45 pm and also the room was not ready at 3:00 pm. It took them to finish the cleaning around 20 minutes after check in time. I was able to access the place, because another guests received the main door code ahead, therefore, I got in and I talked to the guys who were doing the cleaning and they helped me and let me to leave the luggage there. Small, nice place to sleep in Dublin downtown.

SCAM! I booked and PAID FOR a Riverview room and right before I arrived, they emailed saying the room I paid for was suddenly, mysteriously NOT AVAILABLE. They had downgraded me to Room 02, at the back of the building on the first floor, with ZERO view (literally the window has a coating so you can't see through it). They offered me a late check out to "make up for" the change. This situation would have been a bummer, but I'm a reasonable adult, so I accept that businesses sometimes have trouble. Sure. I emailed back and explained that I couldn't use a late check out, since I had an early morning flight. I requested a REFUND in the price difference in the two rooms (about 20 EUROS A NIGHT)...and they never responded. That's right, they didn't REFUND the price difference, even after I emailed them MULTIPLE times. That tells me this is an UNETHICAL BUSINESS that likes to screw visitors out of money by selling rooms that are not available, or selling a more expensive room multiple times. SLEAZY. Give yourself a happier vacation, and don't stay here. There are too many other places in Dublin.

6/10 Good

This room was much smaller than we thought it would be and looked nothing like the pictures (We had booked room 02 ground floor (per Expedia). It was a small, long room with no space for storage/to place items. The window was frosted so we couldn’t see outside. The room itself was clean and maybe if I was younger, this would not have been a big issue, but I personally needed more space. The way the bed was situated, I would wind up hitting my leg against the wall multiple times throughout the night. There was a TV mounted to the wall across the bed. There was a mini fridge. The room itself if located in a quiet area, but it is like a 3–5-minute walk over the bridge to the Temple Bar area (very convenient) and made it easier to explore. One of the issues we had was the fact that you needed a code to get into the building and the room itself; great in theory, but not so great when the internet doesn’t work as well because we are traveling internationally (get the codes before you leave, if possible). Also, there was a storm that came in that day, so trying to reach out to someone for a response was stressful. We were finally able to reach someone who was helpful and gave us the information we needed for the room and to get out of the rain. (No front desk). We wound up booking a different hotel for our second night. Would probably recommend for younger people who don’t mind not having space.

Very mixed review

A very mixed review. Like others have noted I had difficulty in getting access into the property and despite emailing the property the morning of my arrival I didnt receive any communication about the entry codes. The property is run remotely so you need codes for main door and room door. I managed to ask some guests who were leaving the property to help and they contacted the property who then gave me codes to the main door and my designated room (201) only to find when I gained entry to the room that it was already occupied and had all the guests stuff in the room- thankfully the guest was out but it made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I was then sent to another room and when I entered it the room hadn't been cleaned from the previous guest. It took over 1.5 hours to have the room cleaned and I was worried that having been given access codes to the previous occupied room the same might happen to my room. Not a great start. HOWEVER - the room itself (301) was good size, comfortable bed, good sheets and good bathroom. It was on the river side so noisy from the street and popular bridge until early hours. The room could do with double or secondary glazing to cut out the noise. This would have been a great accommodation if the communication with the guest was infinitely better considering the property is run remotely with no onsite staff to help - and there needs noise proofing on the windows. Its in a good location within walking distance to bars / shops and tourist sites.

Poor communication

Location was a 10. A block only from the Dublin Express bus stop. Bed was comfortable. Room was basic but very comfortable. If you do not care for the noise, ask for a room with a city view. Since the windows are not double paned, the noise level is high. Finally, the light in the bathroom is automatic and this is very annoying. If you are close to the bathroom it does turn on but one instance, the light stayed on for over 5 min. Another instance, while in the shower the light went off. The major issue I had with them is the communication channel. They email you on Hotels.com which you might or might not see the message. They then text you, you check in information. They do not consider that you might not be reachable on your foreign mobile or that you might be stuck on a plane. So when I got there, I did not know how to get in. I had to find a good samaritan to call them for me. Their phone line is terrible as if they are remote in some isolated island. Then I never go the wifi password. I had to go find a local restaurant to get wifi for my business and to contact them. They responded fast enough but for some reason, Hotels.com did not dispatch that message to later and by then I was in the room. Again, this communication issues could have been worked out if there would have been more information at the time of booking. Because of that, I do give it a 5. If I ever go back, I will be prepare.
