My husband and I have just spent two nights at The Wayfarer, in the top floor room (which a staff member suggested was the penthouse suite). I am sorry to say that our stay was far from enjoyable and in fact, we contemplated leaving after the first night. Sadly the second night was worse.
The room only had two bath towels, no hand towels or bath mat in the bathroom. The room was tired and in need of updating, with lots of furniture and fittings broken. The toilet was not attached to the floor and the seat was broken. The shower rail comes out of it's fitting if you try to adjust the height of the shower head. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and mattress lumpy and uneven. At 1 a.m. on Saturday we heard several doors banging and then a man climbed the stairs and burst into our room. Thankfully or not, we happened to be awake due to all the noise, so my husband was able to shout out and the intruder left.
We would have raised all of this with the staff, but when we attempted to on Friday morning we were met with a nonchalant attitude. On the Saturday morning we asked for the managers details and the staff member just offered a name. Sadly a poor experience all round. Trying to give one positive, the breakfast was good
