FDR is a resort where families come back year after year. The staff is amazing and makes you feel at home. The food is great (especially for an all inclusive). The drinks are good (not cheap bad tasting alcohol). The kids have fun as they become friends with the other kids at the resort. And for the parents, it’s great to feel like you’re on vacation and not just parenting on vacation. The Nannie’s are a huge help. The rooms are very spacious with the kids having their own separate sleeping space and bathroom. The resort has remarkably recovered from Hurricane Melissa with the storm not impacting our stay at all. It was our second year in a row here. We love it (and so do our kids)!

This hotel at one time was top of the line. The very best. But now it’s old and tired. The hurricane that happened last year did alot of damage and repairs are slow in bringing this property back to its glory days. Little things caught my attention like new matts for the lounge chairs existing ones old and they smelled. Broken lounges, Beach was small and rocky hard to get into ocean to swim. One night of entertainment and literally nothing to for senior adults. Food was good limited variety but good. Rooms were clean and staff friendly and would go out of their way to make you comfortable. Overall I would not recommend this place until improvements have been made.

Lovely boutique hotel with family friendly service. Beach on property is not the best for swimming but great beaches are literally next door. The Staff at this location is amazing! The location is on the beach and peaceful ❤️ My main complaint was the upkeep of the hotel. My room did not have a working TV My whole trip. As a solo traveller I like to have background noise at night. Even if there was a smart TV, I could have had YouTube or something on, but it was an old TV with no cable. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk, they said the cable has been out for awhile. The air conditioning was spotty , but I could manage. The meals were served at inconvenient times. The one night I missed dinner by 10 minutes, the server basically said nothing she could do. It was a bus boy that came to my rescue , he approached me and said he could get me a plate for dinner and carried it out for me. Should this not have been the response from the server/hostess? Not the person clearing the dishwasher? My friend had a bad experience, with his room. 2 nights the air conditioning stopped working when we came in at 11pm and no one was around to assist. He had to stay with me those nights after unsuccessfully attempting to sleep in the sweat lodge of a room. What if he was truly a solo traveler? Nit only was he inconvenienced by I was as well. I don't expect the staff to be HVAC experts, however I do expect management to step up amd provide the services and amenities that guests paid for.

This property was a beautiful way to see the island for the first time. Lovely surroundings showing you the beauty and natural land of Jamaica. Staff is beyond wonderful helpful and very friendly. This is a kid friendly resort with nannies on the property to tend to those who have families and will give you an authentic Jamaican experience.
