How to get to Margareten
From Vienna International Airport to the southwest, take a taxi into the city, which takes about 25 minutes. You can also take the city’s train line from the airport. Take line R toward Wien Rennweg Bahnhof, and then take the S1 toward Wien Matzleinsdorfer Platz on the southwest border of Margareten. Cheaper flights also go to Bratislava Airport in neighboring Slovakia. From here, take the coach to Vienna’s main bus station, with a journey time of about 1 hour. Margareten has several excellent routes into the city. Margaretengürtel and Pilgramgasse subway stops are located to the north near the river, and there are several train stops to the south.
