The Space

Our 1930s guesthouse was remodeled extensively to meet modern life style. No off-gassing from new building materials, no germy carpets, Safe and Eco-Friendly. The guest house is located in the heart of Austin Texas.

We are a professional couple living in a separate structure on the same property, so we are here to help you to get situated and enjoy what Austin has to offer.

We maintain the house with the Green Cleaning in mind. It is healthier to our guests and good for the environment. You don't want to inhale the heavy cleaning chemical smell. The property is surrounded by 100+ year-old Pecan Trees, and dozens of fruit trees. We also have an organic vegetable garden, so you might see us in the yard weeding or harvesting some vegetables. You will see trees from all 4-side windows; hence, we named our guesthouse The Pecan Tree House. The Pecan Tree House ATX is on the second level of the storage space below, no adjoining living spaces.

Either you are on a business trip to downtown Austin, UT football game, or attending so-many-popular festivals, we are in a great residential neighborhood near downtown, it is very convenient to access many parts of Austin, and parking is free and abundant on our driveway or on a dead-end street.

Walking distance to UT campus and popular coffee shops and restaurants. If you are inclined to cook a gourmet meal, you have a full kitchen with all cookware. One of the largest grocery stores (HEB) is only a half mile away. If you want to sweat off a few Austin BBQ, the awesome Hancock Golf Course and the Greenbelt is just around the corner from the property.

The kitchen includes coffee maker, four-burner gas cooktop/oven, refrigerator, toaster, microwave oven and dishwasher, enjoy appliances like Vitamix, Dyson and Cuisinart.

The bedroom area includes a couple of built-in closet storage areas with plenty of hanging space, drawers. The bed is a Queen size, Sealy adjustable bed; you have to try the zero-gravity relaxation on this bed. We offer I-can’t-live-without-it USB charging stations at all tables and desks.

The office area includes desk/chair and stacked clothes washer/dryer in a closet for your longer stay. So travel light and enjoy Austin more.

The bathroom is inside of the bedroom suite, it offers spa-like shower experience, a bidet seat when you have to go and a hair-dryer so you don’t have to pack the bulky hair dryer.

The living room offers windows on all 3-sides, total of 6 windows with great treetop view, the comfortable sofa can be converted into a queen size bed, accommodating up to 4 guests at this house.

The bedroom and the living room both have HD TVs and Bose and LG sound systems which provides cable channels and movies from Netflix for your downtime on a lazy day.

    Perfect Rental

This is the perfect place to stay in Austin. For location, it’s close to downtown Austin and easy to hop on and off the highway for day trips out of the city. The house itself is really comfortable with all the amenities that you could need. The owner is very nice and very responsive to any questions that you might have. I would absolutely stay here again!

    Perfect stay!

The Pecan Tree House stay was perfect! It is very clean, well appointed, very comfortable adjustable bed perfect for lounging, drinking coffee and watching the news in the morning. The electric fireplaces were a cozy touch and used because it was unseasonable cold when we came! Shower was hot with great water pressure, nice toiletries and thick, fluffy towels. Kitchen well stocked with anything you could imagine, so if you planned to cook, you would have everything you need. Andrew even has the fridge stocked with bottled water, couple IPAs, coffee creamer, and a bottle of wine. He also had a water filter system in the fridge to refill water bottles. Uber was never more than a 3 minute wait, and $10 or less to get about anywhere in town. Thank you for a cozy, comfortable stay during our much-needed getaway from the Midwest!

    Amazing Hosts!

I was staying here during the historic snow storm Austin had. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure I was safe and well taken care of. While there were some minor issues all of these were resolved very quickly. I am so grateful to have been staying with them during a crazy time.

    Great hosts! Outstanding location!

This apt has lots of surprise comforts like coffee and Alexa and a cinema size TV and an adjustable bed and more. Everything was as advertised along with the distinct advantage that your hospitable and kind hosts are on property. We like to run and the location is easy access to UT Austin campus and a nearby golf course/park. I won't hesitate to book again.

Wonderful place great location excellent host

Ok so I like to give complete review the good and the less good so that someone like myself can assess via my needs when I travel. So lets start with the Pros: Basically everything:) The location was easy to get to, definitely safe neighborhood easy parking, you get option of street or driveway but I will say I chose street and always got a spot right in front of the house. They did a wonderful job making the walk up to the house in the evening absolutely gorgeous, all the nice lighting and such. There is a beautiful private chill spot at base of the stairs to your place definitely worth having a morning tea there or an evening cocktail or whatever your fancy. Now the mini house, they did an excellent job with little details trying to anticipate what you may need. Fully stocked kitchen with better quality than most kitchen wear. The bed is awesome as it is adjustable for chilling for the major tv or if you want to sleep upright a bit etc.. cool little mini office off the bedroom. Excellent bang for the buck! There are byrd's "the scooters" near by those are fun and great way to scoot around with out your car. Andrew was excellent in that if you needed something he was on it, but also the day after check in he sent me a non intrusive email letting me know some recommended local eats. I thought that was great. Ok so before I run out of space I have to do Cons: To be clear in my book none of these are cons, but good to note for proper planning, 5 stars because I loved it and plan to come back in future. If you are heavier set this may be a caution for you, Bathroom is super small, shower especially, kitchen is tight for workability. Other than that potential Cons would be no blender for making smoothies, though unless blendtec or something on that level not really worth having anyway, Shower temp is tricky and thus wasteful of water, I suggest turn on Hot all the way and wait about 2min then almost only breathe on the cold to find decent balance. The cold overrides very quickly and easily, probably the most tricky balance act ever and I used to be a plumber so that is saying something. But again patience and persistence and you have got it:) Bring Qtips if you use. Off the top of my head I honestly think that is it, and with that you can see why I say the "CONS" are not really that more just good to know info.. The whole experience was excellent and I Highly recommend staying here if you get the chance. Thank you Andrew
