We stayed 7 nights at the Zan inn, staff were very friendly and polite, always said good morning and good evening in English and dutch! We love staying in Zaandam as it’s more family oriented and quite. We never had any issues with noise we was on the first floor on the end next to the road. Our room was cleaned everyday and the housekeep staff were so polite! I would say that the walls do need a lick of paint as there was large black scuffs all up the wall but it is to be expected when the hotel is so busy! The hotel is right next to the train station and is easily accessible by going right when coming out of the station, there is a lift and stairs to go down to the hotels area and a lift and escalator to go up to the station. There is an Albert Heijn across from the hotel so you can get water, alcohol sandwiches and croissants 8am-8pm 9/10 I would recommend staying here and we would stay here again

Charming hotel lovely staff
We stayed in Zaandam because Amsterdam is so expensive, especially as it was the weekend of the F1 at Zandvoort. It proved to be a lovely launching point for our stay. Walking into the town well found a beautiful square filled with eateries and cocktail bars. This is a charming looking hotel very close to the train station, literally a 5 min walk when loaded down with luggage. Nearby there are escalators and a lift so you don't have to worry about negotiating staircases. The staff were super helpful. Ordered transfer to Schiphol for us, and we're very courteous. Remember you have to pay the city tax when you arrive at the hotel, worked out around £45 for two. We booked a bouble luxury room, which was very spacious. The double bed was two single pushed together with a top mattress. There was a bit of a dip in the middle but it was, along with the cushions like sleeping in an enormous fluffy cloud, we both slept great. There was a smell of sewage in the bathroom but once we started to use it that soon went away. So just be aware and don't go rushing off to complain from the get-go. Other than that, the room was very clean. The only downsides were.. The coffee machine: leaked water (we forgot to tell the staff) and was in the wardrobe and there was no lighting so I had to use a torch to make coffee. The shelves in said wardrobe were too high to be of practical use so we left clothes in suitcase. The shower wasn't level so water pooled at the wrong end

The checking was smooth , room was as booked, clean and tidy. The service and breakfast was also good. They provided a parking near hotel at a charge . Altogether enjoyed the stay and will consider this hotel in future.

Very enjoyable stay, ideal for exploring Amsterdam a 10 minute train ride away, station less than 5 minute walk. Zaandam very relaxing and quiet compared to Amsterdam city centre, plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Hotel room very comfortable and clean. Lots of options for breakfast. I love this hotel, it is near to Zaandam stn & there’s a halal restaurant right in front of hotel & there’s Albert Heign a supermarket right in front of the hotel. It’s near to Zaans Schans windmills area & near to Schipol Airport. Very cosy, clean & it’s air-conditioned so it is suitable for summer.
