If you have the desire to get off the beaten path and step back a century and a half, Berry Hill Plantation is the place for you. A truly amazing destination. Don't expect to be in the heart of an exciting nightlife or tons of shopping because you will be far removed from all of that. I spent several business trips at this facility and I was more than impressed by the faciltiy, staff, dining and grounds. Here is a place you can get lots of work done and then immediately step into tranquil relaxation with only the sound of the crickets and frogs to disturb you. There are miles of biking/hiking trails right down to the Dan River. There is an old slave burial ground which is as fascinating as it is tragic. The house itself is a gem of its time. You will come back from a stay at Berry Hill refreshed and relaxed. As a northerner visiting southern Virginia for the first time, I also went home more educated about an area of the country that I had not been familiar with.
