2/10 Poor

Never again
This is not a hotel and should not be advertised as such. It is a glorified youth hostel charging $400/night. When I arrived there was nobody attending the site and when I called the number on the locked front door, it only rang through to the unoccupied front desk. It took hours that morning to reach the hotel and get someone to follow-up with me, forcing me to leave bags with a friend in another part of town. On top of all of that, there was no apology, nobody to easily contact if you had a problem, and an extra $50 charge to clean the room! While the rooms themselves were clean and well enough appointed, several light bulbs were out and again, there was nobody to easily call down to for a fix. If they dropped the price and advertised more honestly it would be one thing, but this was a rip off and terribly managed all around.

4/10 Fair

Terrible choice for a family trip
Many things were wrong with this hotel during a 5 day stay: 1. Check-in. Was a nightmare. Tried for three days before arrival to get the QR code that was supposed to let you in. No response to phone call/messages. Finally got a text but it did not include the code. Ended up outside the hotel at 10:30 pm banging on doors until someone let us in. Key is changed daily but they don't tell you this at check-in. 2. Parking. There is NONE. They suggest a garage down the street but it was closed all 5 days we were there. Second choice is SpotHero app, but that was difficult for us to use. Street parking was nonexistent during normal waking hours--much of the area requires a residential permit. Ended up parking 1/2 mile away multiple times. 3.. Facility is basically not staffed--everything supposedly done by text or phone but phone never replied to. Text replies took almost a full day sometimes. Only staff member we got any help from was fired while we were there for reporting to hotel drunk. Involved police on site. 4. Housekeeping. Room was not cleaned during 5 day stay despite requests and seeing staff on site. Only "housekeeping" was bringing us low grade beer/wine (part of the $35 daily "amenity fee"). 5. Room was actually nice, and clean upon arrival. Only choose this place if you (a) don't have a car, (b) are comfortable with no staff on site and hoping that text requests are responded to, and (c) want to stay on a street that is VERY loud late at night, esp on weekends.

8/10 Very good

Check in was crazy …. I feel someone needs to be there upon checkin especially if we need a “fob” to enter and re-enter. Maybe if it keyless then have something like a QR code that goes to our phone for the duration of our stay? Very clean. My husband did get yelled at by the staff when checking in. Room was very well kept up but I have to say the most uncomfortable beds ever. Drinks were brought to our room at night without even asking, nice touch! Many other people checking in had no idea how to checkin also. I would go with the QR code. Location of hotel is exceptional!

8/10 Very good

Awful check in process, otherwise great.
The check in process was horrible. It was to start at 4:00 and we were told we would receive a text when our room was ready. From 4:30 to after 5:00 we sat in a waiting room full of people who were also still waiting for their text. We were all calling and texting the numbers provided and no one was getting a response. Apparently there is no staff actually in the building. Very disappointing. That said, once we finally got to the room everything was wonderful. Very clean, comfortable beds, plenty of pillows, great shower and nice bath towels. It’s only two blocks from Wrigley Field and right in the middle of everything. If not for the frustrating check in process we would definitely stay again.

Terrible Stay - Avoid this Place
Check-in problematic. No one in person available to check in, no one answering phone, no response to text. Stand on sidewalk and wait for another guest to let you in where you then sit and wait longer. Repeat experience to check out. Rude agent on line talks over you and doesn’t listen. Room lock broken, toothpaste residue on sink from previous guest. Extensive hidden fees. No thanks, Never Again
