Charming “village” of renovated cabins with a single bar and restaurant. It was very atmospheric and a lovely stop enroute from Alesund to Trondheim. Not much to do there so arriving around 5:00 or 6:00pm is perfect for your overnight stay.

What an amazing place. We stayed in one of the traditional fisherman's huts which was an incredible experience. The staff were so helpful - offered us kayaks to explore around the small island. Great food. A real experience.

Had the most amazing stay at the hotel which is a really unique experience. We had a lovely boat transfer over, stayed in one of the historic rooms (which is a must and didn’t worry when it mentions bunk beds as they were really comfortable and added to the charm), had some really nice drinks in the “pub” and an equally as nice meal in the restaurant. The staff were really lovely and could not do enough for you. It was one of our highlights during our 2 week road tip in Norway

This is a truly unique place to stay. You park your car at the end of the Atlantic Road and are taken to the island by the hotel’s boat, which is a lovely experience in itself. The hotel is set in a beautifully preserved old fishing village, and staying in one of the iconic red fishermen’s cabins felt like the Norway we had always imagined. The setting is peaceful, picturesque, and full of character. Unfortunately, one issue significantly affected our stay. I called that afternoon to reserve dinner, and the person on the phone confirmed everything was arranged, although she never even asked for my name. When we arrived that evening, there was no dinner reservation. The receptionist told us their restaurant was fully booked and that we might not be able to have dinner at all. After a full day of driving, I was exhausted, very hungry, and it was my partner’s birthday (we had chosen this place specifically for a special evening!). Since there are no other restaurants on the island or any grocery stores, this became very stressful. Thankfully, the restaurant staff were incredibly kind and found us a table. We are very grateful for their effort, but this situation should never have happened. Better communication between reception and the restaurant would have made this an outstanding stay.

We loved taking a boat over to the island. The cabin was nice and comfortable. Dinner was good - they allowed for some to not do the full 3 courses. Breakfast was fabulous! Was fun to walk around the island, but not much to do in evening. We stayed one night and was just right for us.

This an island hotel that used to be a fishing village. You park on their shore parking lot and a hotel power boat transfer you you to the island which is a mile off shore. Restautant on the island. Hytte (cabins) are rusticoutside and modern inside. A unique experience!
