Exceptional 10,0
top notch staff and great hospitality
I enjoyed my stay. Hotel has a very friendly and welcoming staff with great hospitality. If I come to Istanbul again, for sure I’m going to come back to this hotel.

Not worth it.
Staff were lovely. Otherwise everything else was disappointing, not what was expected and certainly not worth the price. Location is dodgy/dangerous, room tiny, no amenities in the hotel I.e. bar and restaurant close to non-existent. It was just a very small over priced room sadly.

Good location but too noisy
My partner and I stayed in Hotel Primero for three nights. We booked this hotel based on reviews we had read. Unfortunately overall we were disappointed. The hotel is in a fantastic location to get to the main sights in the Old Town - a 10min walk max to Gand Bazaar and Hagia Sofia etc. However the neighbourhood is a little to be desired; the approach to the hotel felt like walking in an unclean back alley. During the day it’s a shoe market so expect the clean-up to go late into the evening. The welcome from the hotel staff was very pleasant and friendly. Keen to help with directions and tour bookings - we generally prefer to work this out for ourselves so our interaction with the staff was limited after check-in. Breakfast was mediocre. The selection was pretty limited and repetitive (and the coffee was instant which was disappointing). We stayed in Room 112: it was very small but comfortable if you’re not spending much time in the room. There was little storage space and nowhere to put the luggage. The main issue with the room was the noise from neighbouring rooms. The walls are extremely thin and the bathrooms back onto the bedrooms so any toilet flush or running tap can be heard. The doors don’t have stoppers so slam when closing. Overall this meant that we had a very disturbed sleep and would not stay there again.

Clean, Close to Sights
Service was excellent, esp. Ozgur and Murat. Street was safe and close to sites (Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia) but faced mostly closed wholesale stores, so views from rooms not particularly nice. Room small (not much space for clothes) but very clean. No top sheet (and blanket was not duvet) so we had to ask for it and make ourselves. Breakfast good but not great - first day out of lots of items. I don't give 5 star reviews unless everything is just amazing.
