Firstly, this is a wonderful hotel. Lots of thought has been put into the design and style of the hotel.
Our room (303) was a lovely, well designed and spacious room. It was a shame there is no lift access to this floor and it is quite a distance from the lift with luggage. We didn't have hand soap in the room and when we advised reception, they informed us there was some in the shower (body wash) - not exactly a 5* response but someone did bring up some hand soap but we were aware other rooms had liquid hand soap, just not sure why ours didn't.
The spa was a great space to relax. Again, it would have probably been a good idea if the reception had advised 'children's hour at 4.30pm' on check in, which may have encouraged us to visit earlier (as it was quite noisy).
The food generally was OK. The wait times were often 25-35 minutes - fine if you are not in a rush. Breakfast was a little disappointing, the cooked breakfast was just about warm rather than hot. Poached eggs were hard...it's not difficult to get these small things right, especially for a 5* hotel.
Overall - a lovely visit.
