Deluxe double room booked, but incorrectly described (no balcony or patio) and there is no lounge or bar and the restaurant (closed, but we knew that) is the breakfast room. The hotel management blamed Expedia for the error in advertising (it isn't, but the hotels' own responsibility to ensure the narrative is correct). Assigned smaller room with a "faux" balcony, but no discount/- credit given. Location, especially garden area is excellent. Staff are very good at reception but room service needs improvement (toiletries forgotten, coffee only available in room the first nights accommodation, never any milk, heavy over-bedding and cushions have to be left on the floor as no storage space, towels quite small (although very good quality) and twice we were initially refused bar service until complaining to the management.
Management say hotel is awaiting refurbishment and staff are new and need training.
Overall disappointing, but the weather was good, and with a little effort it could be the 4 star they purport to be.
