Perfect
From the moment we arrived at Marloth Park, we were met with warthogs, impala then on the road to the lodge there were 5 giraffe blocking the way! We then were warmly greeted at the lodge by Doug, the host along with zebra and kudu that were paying a visit! what an arrival. The rooms were modern, clean and welcoming, and we found the bed really comfortable. Breakfast was tasty and set us up for the day and we had our evening meals at the lodge too which were really good, meals were ready for the time we wanted them and nothing was too much trouble. I spent my 50th birthday at the lodge and couldn't have had a better day. It started off at 5am in the morning with a safari around the Kruger with my family and the owner Wayne and our expert guide Doug. Doug was so knowledgeable and our morning started off with the sight of lions and cheetahs, wow, what a day that ended after 5pm. We saw so much wildlife but then it was back to the lodge for a special dinner, birthday cake and champagne! We spent 4 memorable nights at the lodge as both Doug and Wayne were excellent hosts, so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and we were all sad to leave, we highly recommend a stay. Thank you Doug and Wayne for making our holiday so memorable!

Wildebeest Welcome committee
When my friend and I arrived at Tusk Bush Lodge, we were greeted by a herd of magestic wildebeest. After we checked into our beautiful bungalow, we escaped the heat in the swimming pool. A few warthogs came snuffling up. The lodge is located in Marylou Park, a gated reserve that abuts Crocodile River and Kruger National Park. Gentle animals like wildebeest, warthogs, zebra and kudu stroll through. The more dangerous animals can be seen across the river. On our first day at Tusk Bush Lodge we went to the river’s edge and saw elephants, giraffe, two rhinos and a lion. It was thrilling. I heard lions roaring while sleeping. The lodge is only 15 minute drive from the Crocodile River Gate, where you can booked guided bush walks or game drives for very reasonable price. The lodge itself feels like a resort with elegant African decor. Priti took care of us, cooking delicious breakfast for us to enjoy while watching brilliant blue birds and shy impala cruise past. Everything was perfect.

Cool Marloth Park lodge
We only stayed one night, but it was a great place. We were hanging out by the fire pit with the owner watching the Lunar Eclipse. It was a great time hanging out watching all of his animal friends stop by. There are resident bush babies in the tree by the fire pit. They came out and we fed them banana from our hands. Zebra, grey deiker and Kudu also strolled on past the area as we were there. Over night you could hear the lions growling back at one another. If I ever went back to SA I'd stay there again.

Excellent lodge in the bush
Stayed here for 5 nights. The are 3 units in the lodge of which we rented 2. Both units are amazing and private. Beds are large and comfy. There is a swimming pool with decking to relax on. There is a lovely outside area with fire pit to sit and relax. The breakfast is great and service superb. The owner and staff are very helpful and went out of their way to make us feel at home especially with my elderly mom. The warthogs walked around in the lodge grounds and there are so many beautiful birds. We drove along the fence in Marloth Park and saw elephants, giraffes, kudu, hippo, water buck, nyala, buffalo, crocodile and more. Will definitely love to stay here again.

Best Alternative to Overpriced Luxury Game Reserve
The owner was very helpful even prior to us arriving, always responding quickly to questions regarding the area, places to eat, things to do, etc. He arranged for our game drives with Chase from Chasin' Africa, which were amazing. We drove to Tusk Lodge, which was relatively easy to find, even in the dark - located in Marloth Park, which is a unique residential area in the bush, bordering Kruger National Park, so game roams freely around the area!! It is very close to the National Park, which we took advantage of every day. There are two little strip malls in Marloth Park that have a gas station, liquor store, restaurants, groceries. We stayed in #3 bungalow for 4 nights/5 days. It far exceeded our expectations for accommodations in the bush. It was extremely clean, luxury linens and towels and the king size bed was a dream to sleep in. Our room was even cleaned each morning - wow! Delicious breakfasts were prepared by the manager, Pretty. She made us supper one night and it was fantastic. The pool area is great for a day of relaxing - viewing of animals that roam throughout the property. Wifi only available in the main lodge area and certain areas of the pool, but that was fine with us as it allowed us to relax and unplug! We hope to be back again some day! Thanks again.
