Incredible Service, Kind People, Banged-Up Room
I think my title says it all. You cannot go wrong with this hotel as it is in a great location, especially if you are going on a cruise. My husband and I walked to the ship! Our check-in was literally the FASTEST check-in I have ever experienced! The entirety of the hotel staff was incredibly helpful and kind. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Spend as much time there as you can! The breakfast buffet was incredible. The staff was very generous with our friend who arrived when the buffet was over, which I really appreciated. The rooms are just really banged up for the price point. It is time to repaint and repair. I would also recommend a sticker with directions regarding the a.c./heat. I had to ask at the front desk how to operate it. Would I stay there again? Absolutely!

Great location, good staff, good bed
The room was large, comfortable and clean yet a bit worn. While the bedding was perfect, the walls needed touchups of paint.The location could not have been better, right in the heart of Bergen. Because the hotel was large, breakfast was crazy busy on some days.

Book for convenience and beautiful bar
Beautiful reception and foyer. Rooms extremely small and overpriced. Difficult to access due to stairs when you go to the elevator. Great location for walking but rooms barely fit the bed in it compared to the grandeur of the beautiful bar and other bar on the lower level.

Not a good value for money.
Good location. Very small room and it had a view of a huge ventilation duct. We thought we were going to stay in a historic building, but that is the restaurant section only. The majority of the rooms are in the new building behind the historic building. Filty carpet in the room. Good breakfast.

Disappointed!
The rooms are tiny, dark and very bare bones. Terrible lighting. Couldn’t even read a book. No space in the bathroom to leave your toiletries. Terrible service in the restaurant Frescohallen. Only sunshine of the trip was the exceptional friendly and efficient service from the front desk

Disappointed and no service in bar.
Very disappointed with our stay. After reading many reviews my expectations were very high. * Our room was tiny with nowhere to put bags * Breakfast first day was very chaotic with a sparse selection…..2nd day was better. * Bar service was atrocious. Ignored by all the staff even though there were only 6/7 other occupied tables. We ended up walking out after 20 minutes. Reception arranged for a drink being sent to our room. Not quite the same experience as sitting in the beautiful bar. Location good but would not stay again.

Hotel condition is very old and poor. Front desk staffs not really giving customers good service and reception area is very small and crowded with customers. Lots of half floor and hills in different floor and very difficult for people moving luggage. Very poor room condition, air condition is not working and not enough space for closet or moving luggage around.
