We loved this sweet hostel in the charming town of Flateyri. We had room 5 in the upstairs hostel, which was the most spacious of the rooms available and beds were very comfy. Appreciated the extra pillow available in the closet, but bring your own pillow case for it. The kitchen had everything needed to cook for ourselves. We liked the option of an eat in kitchen OR dining room as well as the living room. Plenty of space for guests - we never felt crowded in the common areas. Also - two clean bathrooms meant we were never waiting long for the facilities. Amazing view from our window. The town and hostel was quiet.

Roomy hostel with a great veiw
This hostel was very comfortable and came with an amazing view. It is within walking distance from a delicious pub/restaurant and the gas station is also right around the corner. The owner came to welcome us and give us the lowdown about the area. Even with the hostel almost full, it was comfortable and not crowded at all. I would highly recommend it if you're staying in the area!

There’s NO BATHROOM in the room
I don’t know whose fault it is, but the description of this property is misleading in Hotel.com webpage. When I chose this hotel it was clear in the confirmation page that I would find a “semi-open” bathroom IN my room. When I arrived, I was told it was by the end of the corridor, OUTSIDE of the room. I didn’t mind but my friend (I was sharing the room) was furious.

A hostel to ourselves
While Flateyri is a sleepy little town and nothing was open on the Saturday afternoon/evening it was a delightful place for a night’s stay. There was no one else booked in the night we stayed so it was a relaxed and comfortable evening. The kitchen and lounge rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped. The rooms are small but big enough for an overnight or two stay. Beds are comfortable and the shower was hot. All good.
