    Morning staff is not friendly Resturent food is very delicious & excellent and staff are very helpful and friendly. Booked this place as free parking. But only limited parking. Need to drive around for an hour to find one. Very disappointed reading the parking.

    A great family room - recommended

    We were greeted by Kam opening the door for us with the friendliest smile, which was a great welcome after a long drive. Check in was smooth and easy, but instruction to be punctual to the minute for breakfast seemed a bit excessive. The hotel looks pristine and newly decorated. Other than a small stain on the carpet in our room and another on the toilet, the room was immaculate and very clean. We had a large family room, which was perfect for our needs. The beds were comfortable with good linen and pillows. Towels were soft white and fluffy. You have to switch on the hot water for the bathroom manually, which seemed odd. It did not work too well either, so took ages to get the shower hot and heat was then intermittent with poor pressure. Dinner in the adjoining Indian restaurant was excellent. Again friendly service with great food and ultra clean. The only negative I can give is regarding the breakfast. At £6.95 per head for the full English, the result was disappointing. The egg (fried, no choice) was over cooked, I had 1/8 of a tomato (dry and cold), 2 small pieces of mushroom, a tasty spiced sausage and an unusual potato-like thing with cheese in the middle. The gentleman serving was lovely though and made us tea/coffee and toast. Juice was from concentrate (not good) and bread was cheap sliced. Overall the stay was fantastic and I highly recommend the hotel, but breakfast should urgently be reviewed and improved, especially given the added cost, as well as the shower.

    A great hotel, location and staff 🙂🙂

    A great hotel in a great convenient location. Could also be used as a Base for travelling further a field. The staff were friendly and accommodating from the minute we walked through the door. There is a great Indian restaurant next door which I recommend you try and if you are a guest in the hotel, you get a 10% discount if you show your key card. The only slight issue we had was the shower. The nozzles were blocked so it was spraying everywhere and the water would often go cold for a few seconds but this was minor overall. I would thoroughly recommend and will stay again.

    Charles Hotel

    Stayed for 1 night in a triple room with mum & sister. The whole experience was excellent from start to finish. We arrived half an hour earlier than the planed booking in time & received a very warm welcome. The room was spacious, lovely & clean. The beds were really comfortable & the bed lining & towels were clean & fresh. There was a kettle, tea, coffee, milk & sugar available in the room. Free WiFi in the room & tv with free view channels. There was an en-suite shower room with sink & toilet, free toiletries, lovely & clean. We ate in the restaurant attached to the hotel, the service was excellent & the food was delicious. There was also a 10% discount off the bill for people staying at the hotel. All the staff we met we very polite & welcoming which put us at ease & made our stay really comfortable. We will definitely stay again & will recommend this hotel to friends & family.

    Staff are friendly had a fantastic meal in the adjoining Indian restaurant. Very clean off road parking is first come first served however additional parking is on the Main Street free after 8pm . Only negative was the showers I had 2 different rooms in 8 nights and both showers were poor very modern but temperature was up and down to an extent I nearly scalded myself maybe the thermostat are faulty ? But need sorting .

    I couldn’t stay there is no lift and the stairs where terrible I struggled to get up the stairs the desk clerk didn’t have my proper booking I was suppose have two rooms there was only one room not in my name when my daughter arrived I had to tell her she had no room and she helped me back done the spiral stairs I hurt my knee whilst doing this, this hotel is not suitable for disabilities the site should state no lift and no ground floor rooms I had to go and pay for another hotel the staff member said can’t help contact Expedia when I tried to go up the stairs the staff member said I will go behind in case you fall, I have emailed Expedia who haven’t as yet replied the clerk could see I was disabled when I arrived he seemed flustered and couldn’t find my bookings gave me one for Elsa Kelly said there you I told him I was also blind in one eye and had sight issues in other also there is no parking available near I do expect Expedia to reimburse me for this hotel and that thy state on the site no lift not suitable for disabled
