Good hotel. Worth staying.
Nice hotel, near the centre and a metro station. Rooms are a bit small. Breakfast buffet ok, not much variety though.

A pleasant stay
The Empire is a very good well run hotel within easy walking distance of the metro to access many of the interesting sights in Lisbon. The front desk staff very very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. There are plenty of good restaurants around the area.

Room Comfort Not Good
The hotel, location, service, breakfast and room were as expected. Our major problem was the heating and cooling. The room controls didn't work so the front desk had to help every day. We prefer cool so they were able to do this BUT the room would switch to heat in the middle of the night on its own and it became a sauna and uncomfortable. Many tried but all failed. Luckily they were able to turn it off completely and we opened the window. But the heating/cooling is erratic so I can't recommend this hotel for that reason.
