    Great stop

Great stop along the NC 500. Perfect location. Had a room with a view of the sea, and it's an easy walk to the dock/sign. The pub downstairs was the highlight. Great service, selection of drinks & tasty food. Would recommend stopping to eat or drink even if not staying at the hotel.

    1 night stay

Stayed here 1 night on our NC500. Room was OK and functional. Breakfast had to be pre-ordered the night before and was OK. The meal however in the restaurant at night was really good. I had fish pie, which was excellent, full of fish with a flaky pastry top and chips and veg. My husband had the burger which he said was very good. No complaints, good value.

    Ok hotel for a night

Basic hotel, ok for a night doing NC500 - probably wouldnt have wanted to stay more than a night (not much around area and standard of room but decent enough for one night)

    Nice stsy at Seaview

It was a very comfortable stay with a double and a single bed. Within walking distance from the John O'Groats sign. The staff were very helpful. The wifi at night was non existent but very good in the morning, obviously less people used it then. We had breakfast and it was fine we also had a nice evening meal too. I would recommend this hotel to anybody who fancies going to J O G.

No frills but clean and comfortable.

This is a fairly no frills hotel but its clean, comfortable and everything you need for an overnight stay. The breakfast was good and they offer a good selection of evening meals. The hotel is located 2 minutes walk away from the main John O'Groats tourist area.

Room was ok but very noisy. You can hear neighbours in rooms and in hallway. Most of the staff are friendly. We were told on check in (we did not ask, we were told) that breakfast was included and were given two forms to fill with breakfast preorder. When checking out we were given 34£ bill for breakfasts for 2 nights! Obviously it is the end of season and the owner is trying to get as much money as they can! What made us angry is that we would never have the breakfast as we had early starts each morning and only had it as we were 'given' it! Beware of this!! When I was told in other hotels in Scotland that breakfast will be included, since this incident I always queried how much extra it will be - other hotels said nothing, even though on booking nothing was mentioned about breakfast. At check out owner of this hotel got quite stroppy that we booked room only and WE requested breakfast - that was complete lie! - nowhere on my booking it specified room only booking, therefore they rely on customers believing Seaview hotel staff what they are told at check in and at check out they can add this additional charge.

    Stunning Sea Views

It doesn't pretend to be a luxury hotel but its clean and does the job well. The staff were friendly and the food was good though if you want 5 star, this isn't it. Really handy for the Ferry, within walking distance. Probably COVID related but the spacing of the tables in the dining room, was a bit impersonal so we chose to eat in the bar. The name is on the tin! Stunning views of the sea!

Simple food done exceptionally well. 11-year old said the pie was best ever, great battered fish and chips, delicious pork and haggis dish. Good starters and desserts too. First time I can remember for ages that every single course was thoroughly enjoyed by kids and adults.
