    Great Stay, Great Location

    Amazing location with easy access to tourist attractions and delicious food. Rooftop bar was nice and relaxing, and hostel staff was welcoming and helpful. Would happily stay here again.

    I stayed for four nights in a double room. Firstly, it was very clean and well maintained. The location is excellent, however the best part was the staff, Activites and other travellers. (Forgive me if I forget some names) but Peter, lucky, Lu lu and all other staff were friendly and amazing. Highly recommend the walking tour, hot pot and karaoke. Had an excellent time! The rooftop bar is excellent, a great place to meet people and play games (recommend Umo) and the restaurant downstairs had excellent food. 5/5 would recommend, would certainly book without hesitation when I'm back in Shanghai!

    This is a great! place Good price, good location, and excellent and friendly staff! The everyday tours and classes are a really good way to immerse yourself in local neighborhoods and cuisines. I did a walking tour and dumpling making class - both were amazing! Bonus point: the restaurant downstairs and cafe upstairs serve really good food!

    A quick one night stay

    Overall my stay was nice. The staff were friendly and knew English and gave me an upgrade, which was appreciated. The bed was a bit hard, but if you’re staying for a few nights it should be fine. It’s close to food, so you won’t go hungry. Please take note the ATMs at the PVG airport do not accept foreign cards, so make sure you have cash to change (45RMB fee) or change some ahead of time.

    Location perfect

    Great hostel, great location, nice roof top bar. I’d ask for a room looking out the front if staying again. Our room was next to the top floor of a local family’s flat, so was woken early when they were showering etc on the roof. The front desk staff were very helpful. It’s a very short walk to the metro which was great.

    Valued for money

    It was a great experience staying in the Phoenix Hostel. $14 for one night in a shared room, but you will get pretty helpful service, walking distance toward local restaurants and most places of interest, and clean bathrooms and interesting roommates. Hope I can stay here too when I come back to Shanghai in the mid of July.
