I booked and paid on Expedia prior to arrival. I expected a bathroom based on my reservation. When we arrived, I was told we had a basic tent (and I mean basic) with shared washroom. We were shown the luxury tents as our only option. The luxury tents were beautiful… more luxury than we needed. So, I paid twice as much. I feel like it was a bait and switch.

We had a great family stay at Little Petra. We upgraded to available luxury tents which were fitted with everything you might need for an excellent stay ie. aircon/heat, private bathroom, mini-fridge. We suggest one of these tents if travelling during a time when the temperature is still really cold vs getting a standard double tent which has no heat. We visited in March and it would drop to 7C in the evenings. The staff at the camp were very welcoming and kind. The breakfast and dinner buffet had a good selection of food choices. We enjoyed the public lounge the most to hangout and drink tea by the fire. The location of the camp is very peaceful, nestled in the mountains, close to Little Petra away from the busy of the main tourist area. This camp has a great vibe and made our trip to Petra memorable! We highly recommend this place. A special mention to Michelle at the camp who made our experience awesome!

Very convenient, helpful staff
We had a nice time and enjoyed climbing on the rocks Sigar mentioned to us to see the sunset. He was always present, with a warm smile, and that was so nice to have him around each time we had a meal, or went anywhere. Michelle had some pro tips on what to pay a cab driver and shuttle, and she was friendly and helpful. We really appreciated how kind the staff was, best part for sure. Keep in mind that the camp is tents on the Bedouin style, but not actually run by a Bedouin family. THE perfect place to begin a hike from Little Petra.

Absolutely magical!
Thank you to Mohammed, Michelle and all of the staff for an incredible stay. I felt very safe. The room was clean and the bed was super-comfortable. The details were amazing, like the lights at night, the incredible food at the restaurant, the lounge with tea and music. An amazing adventure.

Michelle was great! Loved the environment and staff was nice. I would suggest a foot massage if possible I would pay for it after a day in Petra even if it was a 10 min per foot. They have great amenities but the foot massage will place it over the top. I will definitely recommend this place over any other in Petra. Plus you have access to mini Petra just as a walking distance away. Thank you all!! Hope to see you soon!

Amazing stay, awesome hosts!
Loved my stay at Little Petra Bedouin Camp. The hosts are very accommodating, they offer lots of advice on how to best enjoy your trip to Petra. The road that takes your straight to the Monastery is just across the street from this camp. The host lets you know how to best deal with the taxi cab drivers that try to overcharge tourists. The host even helped me deal with the luggage that the airline lost by calling them for me since I do not speak Arabic. My advice for those staying here is to be ready to get there, drop off your bags, and head straight to Petra. They will gladly take care of your bags while you go explore in order to not waste time. Regarding the campground, it is very clean and welcoming. We stayed at a Luxury tent and it had all the amenities including a private shower, restroom, and sink inside the tent. At night the mountain caves are lit up by artificial candles and a fire is lit around the sitting area. Make sure you also get the breakfast and dinner option as the food is great. They also have beautiful multiple sitting areas to relax at night, great for those who are still jet lagged and can’t sleep. I don’t partake but they do offer Shisha as well. Check out the pictures for a glimpse of this amazing place.

Best place to stay when visiting Petra. People so kind and helpful. Food is 5 star delicious. Felt safe in secured premesis, and locked “tent”. Hope to return someday—not to see Petra again, but to have the little Petra Bedouin experience again and revisit my new friends! They made my time in Petra so rich and memorable!
