Good Hotel
Another good stay at HRV. My favourite hotel in Central Tunisia with a bit of character and friendly stuff. The restaurant has improved over the years thanks to a good chef. It would be perfect if they could short out the pressure of the showers. Their system does not work well, not keeping constant pressure, resulting in non constant water temperature which is annoying. The addition of a hot chocolate (au lait) and orange juice for breakfast would also be good. I keep telling them every year and they say yes but never do it.

Beautiful old hotel. The bathroom wasn’t quite as clean as it looked at first. As a solo traveler it felt reasonably safe. The view is wonderful!

Charming hotel in a great area
The staff were very friendly - every single one of them! Super helpful too. The room was cleaned daily. The hotel has charm. The location could not be better. The only concern is that some of the old decor is harboring a lot of dust - not entirely possible to clean thoroughly. Therefore, every morning we would wake up with a sore/congested throat, which only went away once we walked around outside. Had some encounters with bugs while in the room - a cockroach - and some bites (unknown). Not entirely possible to prevent bugs, since the hotel is basically in the old Medina area that is 100s of years old.

Great location on the edge of the medina and at the beginning of the long main street of the city. Great view from our room of the square below. The hotel decor was interesting and the room comfortable, although all somewhat less upscale than I expected.

The property is in the city center. Good for people who are not their for leaisure and only want to roam around in Tunis. If your holiday plan is romatic or family, I would suggest to opt for a beach side hotel at Gammarth or Hammermet. The staff is very nice and very very helpful at the hotel. The amenities and property is decent!
