Great Location for Birmingham
We were impressed when the hotel contacted us before our stay to check we were still coming and to say that an accessible room may not be available. We said we didn't need one, however, we were still allocated one. We arrived very early about 11am & were allowed to leave the car & check in later. The receptionists were very friendly & helpful. As we were going to the games we didn't return to check in until 11pm but everything was fine and the check in was very speedy. The room was clean and spacious even for an accessible room. It had good air con and a large wet room & fluffy towels. The wet room did lack grab rails, a fold down shower seat and toilet frame but was fine for us. The fridge held complimentary prossecco, orange juice & water, a nice touch & would have been even better if the fridge actually cooled them down. The drinks tray hadn't been refilled but the receptionist quickly supplied us with tea coffee & milk. The hotel is very well located for the city centre which is a 10 min walk. Also 10 min walk to snow Hill the nearest station or 15mins to New St Station. St Paul's is on a quiet square with a few restaurants just 2 mins away. Be aware if staying here the rooms that overlook the square are not double glazed and you can hear people at tables underneath your window. Also the housekeeping staff set up for their daily changeover outside room 101.If these things bother you ask for a room at the back, these are newer & possibly double glazed. would stay again.

Lovely friendly staff who made us welcome. Would have liked to know the lift wasn’t working before we arrived. Thought the stay was expensive but then we were there for the Commonwealth Games! Breakfast was good value for money with a freshly cooked option.
