Fair
Positive: all hotel staff we encountered during our stay were polite, friendly and hardworking, particularly the girl who checked us in, thank you. Our room, although small, was warm and cosy, and very pleasantly decorated. Covid precautions were being taken seriously. Negative: on the first night of our stay we had dinner in a room off the main bar that had no atmosphere and felt barren and cold. When the food arrived it too was cold. Breakfast the next morning was served in an even colder room and we were served lukewarm porridge and a pot of barely warm coffee. These may sound petty complaints but the weather during our stay was cold and wet, so after walking in the hills or before setting out, to be able to sit in a warm room and eat hot food were important. Sadly, we both left feeling we wasted our money on this stay which is really sad.

Very good
Good location, modern room. Rest of hotel a bit dated and by far the most expensive hotel we had this holiday. For the money charged I thought it would be alot nicer

Staff are very helpful and friendly.
The hotel was spotless on arrival, no one else enters your room while staying there due to Covid. You only have to ask the staff if you require fresh towels or more tea/coffee. The staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much for them and they made our stay more enjoyable. The views from the hotel were breathtaking and we found the hotel was a perfect base for all our sightseeing trips. Our room was spotless and big enough for us and our dog. We knew our room was not a refurbished room and that was why we could bring our very well behaved dog with us. The only criticism I could say was that our room did not take in the breathtaking views. Breakfast was typical Scottish which we loved. There was enough choice and you can tell it was all fresh produce. The meals at night were both well presented and delicious. We ate in the restaurant and in the bar next door, both were excellent. I would advice that you book your table for dinner as it gets busy due to being so popular with walkers. There is a nice play park for children in a safe area and also an area for sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful views. The hotel is not a big hotel so it makes it very homely. We are planning our next trip for early next year and looking forward to it already.
