Charming Retro 50’s Motel
I love experiencing local flavor by staying in locally owned older motels in or near historic districts and Judy’s Motel did not disappoint. The owner was charming and gave great suggestions on things to do. His love for and pride in his hometown was obvious. The motel was well kept and decorated with painted benches and hanging flower pots. The bed cover was a patchwork quilt. It was all very quaint. Now keep in mind this is a 1950’s roadside motel. If you like fancy chains with the bells and whistles this isn’t for you. If you like to support small businesses and looking for a place with old school charm this is it.

One night stay
Hotel room was very clean but mattresses were awful and towels smell from tobacco smoke. Checking check in and parking was fine.

A gem of a small-town motel
I spent one evening at Judy's, and despite a few quibbles (yes, the pillows are thin and the bathroom small) I would definitely stay here again. The building is solid- I never heard any noise from inside or out. The owner will show you to your room personally and explain how things work (thermostat, cable, etc...) and then leave you alone. I liked being able to just have the screen door (lockable) open for fresh air. The surrounding area is very quiet, but there are good basic restaurants very close by. It felt like a throwback to a simpler time, and I mean that in the best possible way.
