DON'T make my mistake and ignore these reviews
I ignored the previous Hotels.com review and still decided to stay here, DON'T make the same mistake. The service at Mahoua "resort" is a complete disaster. Check-in took more than an hour because they have no planning for different arriving guests. I was eventually put in a 2-bedroom apartment. The apartment still had laundry in both the washing machine and dryer. There were no dishes or utensils; I found these all in the dish washer. I also had no towels in the apartment and had to request that they please bring me something. Out of the 10 lamps in the apartment, at least 4 were physically broken, but that did not matter because there was not a single 2-pin plug in the apartment, and it was impossible to plug any lamp in. After 1 night I was asked to change room, but then told I could change the next day. After two nights, before a morning run I confirmed with the 'front desk' that I need to move... they said yes. After my run I showered and packed all my things and took them down to the car because my new apartment was in a completely different complex 1km away. They then realised they stuffed it all up again, and said I should just move into the same apartment. I lost about 1 hour again, and missed the first hour of the conference morning. The apartments could be nice, and should be a pleasure to stay in. Unfortunately the owners and staff have no idea how to run accommodation, and completely lack an understanding of preparation and organisation.

2/10 Poor

Worst service ever!
Tell us about your stay...WHAT STAY? They tried to cancel our booking the same morning we were due to book in! We had a confirmation and payment advice from Hotels.com! We were at a business conference and I had to be on my cellphone constantly trying to sort out this mess, it really ruined the entire day not to mention the break in concentration from what I was actually there for! I had a new staff member with me too, nice start to a new job! When we arrived we waited about 30 minutes for the manager to come out of the toilet to help us and while waiting we had to listen to her through the door telling her colleagues how constipated she was! When she eventually appeared she asked us to please share 1 room! Us being colleagues not partners! She did however organise alternate accommodation for us which took awhile, so not knowing JHB it was quite something finding your way in the dark when I had organised for the opposite to happen! I will never use Hotels.com or this so called resort again! Our establishment does use accommodation frequently and I must say this is by far the worst service I have ever experienced!
